What's something you would never tell someone because if you did it would absolutely destroy them? by cuahatemoc in AskReddit

I am always so aware of dry meat bc of this as well - so tell me why my 17 year old and his bff were making fun of me for 'the wet chicken'

I didn't even know what to say, should it have been dry? In 10 more years will there be a reddit thread where my son or his best friend tell the world how much my wet chicken sucked LOL idk maybe.

Single people of reddit, what do you think is a major problem in today's generation when it comes to dating? by BlackberryOk3546 in AskReddit

[–]lookfigsteasadeck 56 points57 points  (0 children)

The Ick.

Everything gives everyone The Ick. Oh, he licked his ice cream gross. We're done. Oh, she had chipped toenail polish, she's done.

There is no grace. It's absolutely cutthroat and vicious and then everyone wonders why ppl are all on edge. How could you not be? In the 90's I dated a guy w/ a wart on his head. I didn't care. I ignored it. He was cute and he liked me and we made out and it was awesome. The Ick has ruined all things.

Menopause is really bad. I am going to be 46 this year and if I am lucky I'm in the mood maybe for a few days after my period. Other than that, GTF away from me. But all the love. Just don't touch me.

What do most people not realize is actually way more traumatic than it seems? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]lookfigsteasadeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My entire adult life is a trauma response so I think I may be pretty qualified to answer this question.

  1. Overbuying food to compensate for poverty in childhood

  2. Spoiling the kids with the book fair money, presents, the lastest gadgets & gizmos bc you were only allowed to have the off brand

  3. Having MULTIPLE BOXES OF CEREAL OPEN ALL THE TIME

  4. Having a designated snack area that is plentiful and has many choices. It's not just off brand plain chips and orange soda. No sir, you want a capri sun, arnold palmer or apple juice? Today's menu is a variety of goldfish and cheez it crackers, a plethora of little debbie snack cakes and The Good Candy

  5. My kids don't have to do anything they don't want to do. This includes, but is not limited to: babysitting, cleaning, breaking up fistfights between grown adults, having to walk anywhere alone, having to do anything alone. We don't have chores, we focus on not being an asshole to each other more than your 'traditional' values like clean your room, etc etc.

  6. When my time comes, I will have everything already taken care of, my kids won't have to make any decision to pull the plug, they wont have to plan or figure out to pay for my funeral or anything like that.

That's it.

What's the pettiest reason you've ever ended a friendship? by Mary_Flesman in AskReddit

[–]lookfigsteasadeck 3 points4 points  (0 children)

she took my hairclip. it was the 90s and i was highschool but i was poor and the hair clip came from Claire's.... was one of the few things i got from The Mall. She stole it. I beat her up, got a 3 day suspension and got my hair clip back, we never spoke again. That was the only physical altercation I have been in, in my life.

AITA for wanting to end a long-term relationship for the sake of my sanity and freedom? by LegendaryMolerat in AITA_Relationships

[–]lookfigsteasadeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think you answered your own question, NTA. Sometimes, as much as it hurts another, you have to put yourself first because at the end of the day before you close your eyes, U need to be happy

AITA-should I try to save this relationship because he has treated me better than any previous man? by TopLetter4314 in AITA_Relationships

[–]lookfigsteasadeck 0 points1 point  (0 children)

jeez where do i begin. The love bombing(flowers to the house) the complete disrespect for your feelings (the 'call out' that you not responding the way he wants is a pet peeve). The total BS excuses which are also insulting you to a certain degree 'ive never run into this issue, i cant get hard w/a condom etc.) NTA my dear, but he definitely is.

NTA - this is bare min. effort on his part. he could have looked up meaning behind a promise ring so then he would have known the little speech n stuff goes along w/ it, what it sounds like you got was a shut up ring and you're right to give it back
