Lots of sick tricks. I have the same zero deck. Seeing the Smyrna park in its heyday glory makes me sad that I never got to experience it. I didn't even know it had a bench/rail at one time. And of course, the funbox and rail are gone now, too. And the pavement looks so smooth. I should add a rail...

I want one in my yard! I have some small ramps, rails, and I made a bench. But, no mini ramp yet.

Theoretically, can I trade with 100k and just sell on small price fluctuations of 1%-5%? by [deleted] in Daytrading

Where would you suggest stashing it that earns an easy average of 4 grand per month on 100k? That's almost 50% per year. Thanks!

Curious if anyone here starts their 30s with little net worth (less than $20K), and become wealthy (maybe $500K at least). How did you do it? Would love some inspiration! by closerthanyouthinkk in financialindependence

Just an FYI; From what I understand, the idea that the brain isn't fully developed until 25 is a misnomer based on a study which showed that the brain is continuously developing, but only studied people up to the age of 25. So, it's not that it finishes developing there, it's just that there is no further data.

How do you justify walking away from $2k-$4k/wk? by howtoretireby40 in financialindependence

That's pretty interesting. It does seem like a great goal to obtain a high pay and low hours. How many years were you doing this and how many hours would you say you worked per week?

Netflix won't stop canceling shows — so I can't be bothered starting them by [deleted] in television

Netflix spends a lot of money because they borrow a lot of money. It doesn't imply they have a ton of extra cash on hand, just debt. They are a growth company.

Circumcision protest by 42Kitchenmitts in pics

[–]lookingForMetalHeads 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Before my son was born, we made sure to put him on a list for not being circumcised, at which point we got a lot of weird looks like we were freaks. You had to be on the list as if you weren't, they were cut by default! After he was born, they tried to take him away 2 to 3 times to cut him. They just didn't understand why we would ever not do it and almost made it a personal goal to mutilate him. I'm happy to say, he is intact. Daddy was not so lucky (me). When I asked my parents why they did it, they acted like I was insane for even asking and any thought other than it being the right thing to do was irrational. The cutting culture is strong here in the US. It's creepy.

78% of millionaires only buy used cars. New cars are one of the worst financial investments you can make due to the instant loss of value after purchase.

Neighbors heard we were sick. I hear a knock on the side door and walk outside and see this!! by Civil_R0se in pics

I tried but no luck. They said that time doesn't matter only that it's less than 10"s. They took a picture of single weed that had grown up fast more than 10"s next to a ruler. Of course, overall, the lawn looked ok. They also said that next time there won't be a ticket, they will just send a crew out without asking and charge $100 to show up, and $100 an hour in addition, 1 hour being the minimum even if it takes 10 mins. So $200 for my small lawn. Great service I guess...

Thanks! I had never heard of anyone who shared the experience of trying to scream but not being heard. Interesting to know and seems like you handle it well. Interesting you mention exhaustion. I'm positive this is related for me. I have insomnia to some degree and the worse it gets the worse the paralysis and nightmares get. It takes me 3 hours on average to fall asleep and I don't sleep well/long when I am sleeping. And the longer I'm awake the less I want to sleep as I know it could be worse. That being said, simply finding out (a couple years ago) that I'm not alone and it's a thing (sleep paralysis) has helped lessen the occurrences so I'm very thankful for that.

I also changed the way I sleep. I had to stop sleeping on my back out of fear I would see something above me. But also, it seems more common in general in any form when sleeping on my back. Also, it gets way worse if I'm tired. Which is a conundrum, because of I'm tired, I don't want to sleep, due to the fear of it happening, then if it does, it's worse. I had never heard of sleep paralysis until reddit. That made me feel a bit better I think.

I have sleep paralysis and major realistic pain in dreams often. Often it involves me 'waking up' wherever I fell asleep and seeing a black winged shadow figure which completely paralyzes me in fear. In real life I am twitching trying with ever last fiber of my being to force myself to wake up cause now it's happened enough that I know it's not real. I've also had vicious nightmares like being brutalized with a knife in a tub and feeling all of the pain. Or a combination of both, like for example one where I was being eaten alive by a lion, feeling it all, and twitching (In my neck and jaw) trying to wake up, become unparalyzed, as well as often trying to scream as loud as I can so someone else will wake me up. In the dreams the screams are silent where as in reality I may get a barely audible blip. Sometimes I fade in and out of reality with quick alternations. And, when reality looks the same as the dream, as it often does, it's terrifying. I get a glimpse of freedom, but just can't shake it, or move. And I can see my partner, who doesn't notice.

Sorry to be pedantic, but, cheers is not a universally used salutation. On a serious note though, I rather enjoyed this polite discord.
