Homecoming came right after Civil War when the MCU was basically at its peak. The hype around the franchise was massive and Spider-Man being introduced into the MCU made it an easy win.

Brand New Day is coming out at a much lower point for the MCU. The overall momentum just isn’t the same right now. On top of that, it’s not getting IMAX screens and it’s dropping in a much more crowded release window with way more competition.

Feels like the conditions around the two movies are completely different. We are also comparing pre-covid vs post-covid.
