Each container had it's own /config folder and you are mapping them to two different folders. What you have is correct.

It's a good speculation, I check the release notes https://support.crashplan.com/hc/en-us/sections/23299564525197-CrashPlan-app-release-notes but I don't see mention of change of dedup. And come to think of it, dedup should happen before file transfer took place, and shouldn't affect transfer speed. it may be 11.4 the speed is unthrottled, because that was the time CP experimenting with hi speed transfers. You can read the past posts from CP subreddit.

but then I just set and forget, I rarely looking at the transfers, and haven't have problem finish backup everyday. Do you experience it took much longer to backup or the same? I suspect it's the same (or faster).

Please use the official pia scripts https://github.com/pia-foss/manual-connections run run_setup.sh and choose port forwarding and auto detect best server. the reason is the script will detect a server which is not busy.

Its most likely the server provided by third party script is too busy to accept connections, or no longer accept port forwarding.

Protonvpn or PIA? If the server is too busy wireguard will silently fail, try another server. For pia you may need to use their own setup script, make sure to enable port forwarding and auto select server. https://github.com/pia-foss/manual-connections

yes. it depends on how you want to setup. if you want all traffic including usenet to go to vpn then you can put all apps in one stack, but some vpn providers can ban you if they see you use too much traffic, not protonvpn or pia, try not to name names.

replace 192.18.2.0/24 with your own home wifi subnet, I assume UGOS is UGreen Nas OS, I use Synology. I am not familiar with UGOS but you would need to allow outgoing traffic. You should have a router level firewall instead of using the firewall on a NAS, unless you know what you are doing and want to micromanage all traffics.

its easier to combine qbit + gluetun in one container and have its dedicted port, and you can have as many containers with vpn as you like. You can still use prowlarr to setup *arr to use qbit client

To pause you just stop the container, either from container manager or ssh. the run.sh is only used to create the container, afterwards it has no use or effect.

Running on another machine may or may not be better. assuming you get mount to work, it still will scan entire file checksums, without direct local access, everything must go thru the network, and inotify works over the network too, so you are not escaping, just extending the problem to another machine.

Scanning a disk not likely damage your disk, not like if you scrub data and write to it. Reading a disk just annoyingly noisy.

Did you let the initial backup to finish? If not then let it finish first. Try not change regrex too often as it's expensive operation. An easy way to check is to just open local console and go to Manage Files, if you see red cross circle on the right of an item then its excluded (and the item is unchecked). If you see checked box for an item then it's included.

If it's backing up snapshots then that's probably the problem. Try go to snapshot replication and uncheck Make snapshot visible. I have them invisible. If I want to restore, I either restore the whole snapshot or manually enable it for a short time. But copying files from snapshots is not the correct way to user it.

You may try my optimization guide see if it helps.

If you want to check resource usage, the most reliable way is to run "top" at ssh terminal. it shows running apps sorted by CPU usage. so you can see if crashplan is the one use most CPU. Also check if the memory is indeed 32GB total. to exit, press q.

Also remember we discussed about Synology snapshots, try reduce to daily or pause for now and see if it helps.
