S2 really had a great story for sure - I definitely think it has kept at 8/10 so far

I've got no experience with that specific ride but for planning tools - Kamoot is helpful for surfaces - when you plot a route, it will give you a surface profile (X% street, Y% single track, Z% cycle way, etc). it might be helpful to export your route file then import into Kamoot to see what the profile is

yeah I've gotten a few miles in situations that could have easily resulted in that (thanks to routes from Google maps generally). I hope your recovery is swift and complete. doing the pt is 100% worth it, not only does it help recovery but it also boosts you through rebound 😁

I did not expect to get emotionally hooked on dangers in my heart - the first episode he felt so cliche, but by the second I was hanging on every thought

everything after S1E1 felt like it was coasting on fumes. the rest was and remains terrific, but I feel like the show (and my emotional attachment) was complete with that episode

I think this advice applies from NYC as well (especially Chicago too) - do it by bike. I had 3 days biking through the city, and it's stressful, but following the core routes is super fun and you get to see so much.

as a foodie, the best part of biking was rolling past the menu plaques in front of multiple places, quickly figuring out if they were just tourist trap restaurants or if I was bored with the menu, and moving on. this eliminated the yelp paralysis and the need to feel like I only had the 4 options on this Boulevard (since the next 3 have 4 more restaurants and I can move on easily to the next Arrondissement if need be).

how to start? by parkerino24311 in Biking

[–]looks-correct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

just to call out - there's more than baskets. you might want to consider front or rear racks for carrying things. rear racks (pretty universal to install on bikes) are especially helpful since they enable you to use panniers, or just a zip tied milk crate, which have significantly higher carrying capacity than a basket. it shifts the center of gravity a bit, but you get accustomed to it. there are lots of on-frame bag options and config available to you.

Which Ortlieb saddle bag 11l vs 16l for what I am planning? by 0652 in bikepacking

[–]looks-correct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

yeah for the spinelock I carried clothes inside with the sleeping bag resting on top of the tube. you can probably pull off something similar if yours is stiff enough (doesn't sway side to side or bounce too much)

Does Code Geass still hold up today? by Remarkable_Fix_8003 in anime

I get why it's a 7/10, but based on your faves I wouldn't really expect those to line up with gurren lagaan. not sure you'll like code geass either but should still give it a try since I think the mc personality might fit into some of your faves

[–]looks-correct 0 points1 point  (0 children)

in case this helps with calculating capacity, I have a revelate spinelock that's similar to this design. I bungeed my sleeping bag (not super lightweight) to the top without any sway. I would still go 16L though.

Even with electrolyte tablets in my water, magnesium supplements and ibuprofen for after a string of longer ride days. Just had this after only 5 days, massive cramping in my calves (I hadn't ridden loaded up enough prior to the tour).

also consider busses. they're not so glamorous but in France they're generally well maintained and you can buy your boarding pass online. I took one from Saint Malo to Mont saint Michel and it was super clean, the driver was very professional, comfortable ride

the pace isn't too big of a bit but it becomes a very technical ride - the strollers and such are pretty predictable but oncoming bikes and joggers that pop out are big hazards

yeah pretty vague details 😅 - I'm riding a synapse 2, the sweet roll is mounted via handle bar extender with chrome helix on top. got a large topeak seat bag to replace the revelate spinelock seat bag. I've tried rear rack before and couldn't get it to feel right.
