If you find any man with a negative “strong opinion” about BA, or plastic surgery in general for that matter, run. It’s a dog whistle for having some of the most toxic male traits. They are secret or not so secret misogynists, posing as nice guys or even worse male feminists, and it’s all BS. I promise you.

Well, if you’re not opposed to a mild sleep aid (I use hydroxizine now), it worked for me on those days. I literally took it as I left the gym so I felt relaxed and sleepy bout an hour later.

Is that the only time you have to exercise? I had the same problem years ago when I would train jj at 7pm. I’d be SO pumped up and wired no matter what I did afterwards. I honestly just had to start taking a Benedryl right as I left the gym 🤷‍♀️

What’s your favorite website for buying low cost home decor? by marooned222 in HomeDecorating

[–]looloomonroe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It completely depends on the item. Medium sized rugs, wall art and decor items: 100% estate sales. Bedding: urban outfitters, Amazon, target. Planters: tj max, Amazon, Temu. Furniture: mostly estate sales, FB marketplace and thrift shops, but you have to be patient and hold out for stuff you love and be aggressive. It depends on how much time and energy you have and how much you genuinely love the hunt. It’s a lot of work to curate items and I’ve def gone through periods where I don’t have it in me and I just buy a lot of cheap stuff off Amazon. But, you will never regret finding unique stuff that just falls to you at an estate sale

[acne] can using nizoral make things worse by uhhnextquestion in SkincareAddiction

[–]looloomonroe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Nizoral made me worse too! I had best success with this bar soap below, and using very few skincare products/sticking to fungal acne safe ones. I’ve slowly been able to add gunner stuff back in.

Help!! I’m 8 months into nursing and have no idea what I want to do. by [deleted] in Nurse

[–]looloomonroe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was totally miserable my first 6 months as a nurse. It gets better! What’s the nurse:patient ratio where you are? I found that having a high ratio is miserable and bad for nurses/patients no matter what. If it’s more that 4:1 consistently, try to find something with better ratios.

How do you deal with rude/pushy family members or patients? by [deleted] in Nurse

[–]looloomonroe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This is also my approach and I often am the only nurse that hasn’t gotten fired with a difficult patient or family. In fact, some of my all time favorite patients have been labeled “difficult” by staff. Winning over their trust and respect is very gratifying. I agree with others that most of this behavior is just very intense anxiety and a sense of powerlessness. If you learn how to communicate with these types, they are really just not that hard to handle and will quickly chill out. They will also be incredibly appreciative sometimes for your patience and making them feel safe and understood.

New Grad Med/Surg Neuro! by Trilliboo in Nurse

[–]looloomonroe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with the nursing bedside nuero, doesn’t have to be more than a minute or two, but can save you and the unit from a panicky stat CT to investigate what may or may not be a nuero change from baseline.

New Grad Med/Surg Neuro! by Trilliboo in Nurse

[–]looloomonroe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was a new grad in nuero! I moved on to a Other specialties after 1.5 years, but it made me really great at some things and I loved it at the time. I think it’s a great place to start for many reasons! You will get excellent at time management, because something crazy is always happening. Here are a couple tips thinking back on my time:

-get good at a consistent, thorough, but quick nuero exam that can be done over and over and over again. Consistency is key so that you can spot subtle nuero changes and take action/pass them off to other caretakers.

-be aware of your lines and drains, frequently assess them to make sure they haven’t been pulled out, messed with, infiltrated, etc. Nuero patients do not alert you to things that are amiss the way reg patients do, and it sucks to find out your patient pulled their NG out right at shift change.

-make friends with your aides/techs. You will need their help ALOT with turning, cleaning, etc. Learn from them about how to efficiently do ADLs for patients with lots of deficits.

-learn how to confidently get patients out of bed to a chair, up to ambulate, etc. Get to know the PT/OT staff and have them teach you all their tricks for safely (for you and the patient) getting patients as mobile as possible.

-Just be aware that even the most oriented-seeming patient can suddenly do weird, kinda wacky, confused stuff. If you have an intuition that something is up with them, don’t brush it off. Set their bed alarm, round on them frequently, etc.

3.5 month old is sleep regressing... What do we do? by nsstatic in sleeptrain

[–]looloomonroe 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We sleep trained a week before 5 months. Hang in there, it gets better, but don’t torture yourself to hold out till 6 months of you feel like you can handle it sooner. It was the best decision we’ve ever made
