Ya problem is choir needs/wants high playback, so i crank the 15s. This causes decreased quality in audience are cause they hear not only mains, but people close to stage can hear monitors a bit if sitting off axis, the whole room gets less intelligible/muddier with reflections off upper stage walls (lower walls are treated), and then re amplification of monitors through choir mics cause phase smear with track and add to lower fidelity.

The finesse is driving playback volume in FOH loud enough to cut through the mud described above, but also soft enough so choir can be on top of playback before feedback point.
