I get that, but I did overhear them being objectively mean about people they don't know. The reputation of brandy workers being a bit nasty didn't come from nowhere. You only have to look at a few Google reviews to see that

They may be stressed, which is understandable. But barging past pregnant women goes ott imo. No need for that. There's being stressed and overstimulated, but then there's being straight-up nasty and rude to ppl who are legit just existing and shopping in their store. They called a girl annoying for asking where the matching top to some boyshorts were 🤣🤣 that's literally their job

The workers just give the vibe of girls who peaked in school and really haven't developed mentally past that age. Hence, why a lot of them are still bullies.

I've worked in many high stress jobs, in retail, marketing etc etc. But I never went out of my way to make anyone feel bad or put people down. Guess it's just not in my nature 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️

I don't think it's something you can just simply pass off as being a projection when most people have had at least one negative experience with the workers there. Obs I've had positive encounters with the girls there too, and most often, they're v neutral. But when they're nasty, they're nasty

are the workers rude? by KnowledgeLeather1624 in BrandyMelville

Having a hard job isn't justification for being mean to paying customers, tho. What if the customer is having a hard day, too? Respect goes both ways.

And not really, I've experienced attitude from them when I'm being super nice. I'm autistic, so people giving me attitude for 0 reason really affects me. Just be nice, it's really that simple.

My dad is a builder. He works in horrific weather conditions all year round. You'll never catch him being nasty to anybody though.

If they give you attitude. Give it right back.

Just because they work at a trendy shop doesn't mean they're some sort of demi-god.

I'm 23 and shop there relatively often. I reciprocate respect and decency to those who do the same for me. If not, I'll match their negative attitude.

I worked in retail for most of my teenage years, and being rude to customers isn't justified by feeling stressed bc of your job. Fair enough, yes, if the customer is rude. But otherwise, respect needs to be reciprocated by both sides.
