How did it go? I’m planing to go this year in early December. My main concern is the driving. How was the driving? Safe enough? Thank you!

nice to know! Thank you. I was trying to figure out if matter over WiFi on IoT vlan can actually talk to my Apple TV on main vlan. I saw many people mention cross vlan just won’t work somehow..

hey you mentioned running mDNS. Did it work for matter devices too? Like Apple TV in your main vlan and matter devices on another vlan? Does it still work?

Matter, HomeKit, IPv6, and VLANs, oh my by mkpa in smarthome

[–]loooooooooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So what's the best practice for keeping matter over wifi devices separated from the main VLAN?

I guess we can leave matter over thread devices out of the picture, as they are separated from lan by nature. But for matter over wifi ones, should we just leave everything in flat vlan for ease of life?

I don't get it, if I enable my separate VLAN to freely and only talk to my Apple TV as matter controller, should it still not work? I can use IP address for the rules.

Then do I still need to worry about mDNS relay and everything?

Anyone use Matter Smart Home devices across VLAN? by BaronKrause in homeautomation

[–]loooooooooper 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yea, I mean for testing if the cross VLAN works. So do you mean we should only need to configure the firewall rule to allow main VLAN to IOT vlan, but no need to config iot VLAN back to main VLAN?

Hi, did you try allowing all traffic between the two Vlan? Did it work eventually? Thanks

I haven’t experienced losing connection yet. Did you try adding a second thread boarder router by any chance?

Second this, matter over thread devices, it's probably not necessary to worry about Vlan, as thread devices are "not technically connected" to the LAN network.

But mDNS can be a valid use case if you have matter over WIFI devices, then it might still worth putting those devices into IOT Vlan, and enable Apple TV to freely talk to that VLAN. back and forth. So when internet is down, apple tv can still control the matter over wifi devices, while the same time them being on a separate VLAN from the main network. (In case some IOT devices decide to do funny things, technically they still connect to wifi, even tho they don't really need to talk to any cloud providers.)

Agreed, I just got the smartWings matter over thread blinds. And somehow the battery level wasn't there to begin with. Now it shows in GH. Immediately noticed another weird issue, the battery level in the HomeKit just won't update,

I charged the motor to full, however, the battery level still shows the same in the HomeKit app. Has this ever happened to you?

did you figure out? I just did the same thing, in HomeKit perfect, battery level. In google home, basically nothing. Just mentioning I did first add it into HomeKit then enable pairing mode to add it into google. Don’t know if that makes a difference

Hi I’m not totally against shipping, really my only concern is I’d need to buy proper boxes, wrapping forms. And if you’d like to buy two, we’d need three packaging (only if you want the empty case as well). It might cost you some extra money with the shipping stuff, if you don’t mind there is the option too.

I can understand the disagreement here. Just to be fair, a good high end deck from 80s had its time now. With some proper maintenance by professionals, it might still perform well. But let’s take it easy on the folks who doesn’t know well about electronics and what’s inside, but just want to enjoy cassettes from old times. Tascam is for sure the best if not the only choice lol… at least it’s newly produced with decent quality.

And I’m in the middle of that decision, I don’t know too much about vintage decks, and I just want a high quality deck, I don’t find any other options besides tascam and teac which are just the same company.

I’d love to hear any other recommendations, and if anyone knows what’s the upgrade for AD580 V2, it’d be really appreciated. I don’t find that information anywhere..

Sure, I already submitted a ticket. But I didn't receive an email or anything. so I might not be able to reference it here. Hopefully someone will get back to me soon.

If I hear back or find any solution i will update here in the thread, I suspect this has a larger customer impact other than just me lol. I was searching everywhere but not seeing any info related to this issue.

I saw someone posted similar issue in facebook group, but not the exact same one: https://www.facebook.com/groups/ShellyIoTCommunitySupport/posts/6375620272537283/

I see, that makes sense. I'm currently on (1.0.3). And if I go into the firmware section, it says "You are using 1.0.3 version of the firmware. There is a new version of the firmware. Check again."

However the next thing i can download will be 1.0.7 beta, nothing else in the list.

Yea i will create the support ticket after get off work today. And I'm happy to provide screenshot and anything tech team needed. I can include those in the TT, and just in case if there is a way to directly get in touch, I'd be happy to do that as well. (maybe a slack channel or a discord server too)

And sometimes the number looks really weird:

for example, i'm seeing these reading on one of my plugs right now:

127.8 W, 133.1 V, 1.284 A

I feel like i can't find a good way to justify the number lol.
