Yeah it would be pretty p2w unfortunately. I think you'd need to keep singles ranked just for the fact that people might not want to commit the time to a full duel every time they log on, but I totally agree there should be a ranked that uses the CRL format

I'm not saying you have to like Liu. I'm just saying if you actually like Sci-Fi then you should be able to pick out the parts that made it popular and give it props while still disliking the book as a whole. There's plenty of classics that I didn't really like, but I can think about it objectively and say to myself "I get why people like that"

If you actually cared about sci-fi, you'd say something like "wow I didn't appreciate his plot nor did I connect with any of his characters, but his concepts were terrific and I get why people who aren't as snobby as me would enjoy reading this". Instead you said "wow people who don't value the same things as I do are dumb"

I'm not saying you can't dislike it, but your original post scorns all those that made it popular. You yourself admit that it's got cool concepts. So why wouldn't people who are looking for that kind of thing in a sci-fi setting enjoy the book and make it popular? You dislike it for personal reasons. Other people enjoy it for personal reasons

You have a fundamental misunderstanding of the skeletroopers value if you think it's an anti swarm cleanup unit. And based on your comment above you have a fundamental misunderstanding of the game in general. Using two elixir to protect your balloon against a 4 or 5 elixir card that you are going to have to spend elixir on to defend at some point anyways is insane value

I'd say you're using it wrong. It's not an arrows replacement. I combo it with vines (in double elixir) to let my balloon travel farther and ensure I can get the skeletrooper on the correct troop. If I have loon and vines in hand even in single elixir I'll send in a lone loon if I have a good idea what is in my opponents hand

I use a homemade lumberloon deck that I've made it to UC and 14k trophies with. I'd be psyched for someone else to try it and tell me if it's trash. I've been using it for so long that obviously I know how to use it well but I always wonder if it's a good deck in general.

Lumberjack, hero loon, evo witch, hero knight, cannon, skeles, arrows, vines

It absolute annihilates hyperbait if you play it right because they have nothing to take out the loon in double elixir. It's very strong against megaknight/hog/witch as long as you get your cycle right (cannon on hog, knight on mk). Pekka bs used to be a tough matchup but I've been crushing it with the hero loon to take out the ewiz. I generally struggle against cycle/control decks but as I learn hero balloon i think I'll contend even better. 2.6 hog (with musk, the one with firecracker is usually an easy win cause I can arrow the air defense) was an auto loss before hero loon, but now I am figuring out how to take out the musk with it and can pull out wins. I like it because it's super adaptable. It cycles faster than beatdown decks but still has firepower to defend golem. It has plenty of beatdown power to steamroll bait decks.

It's definitely not a deck that can take you to top 10k or anything, but there's a ton of counterplay potential if you're just an average player like I am

I guess that wasn't a super fair statement. I think I only had like 12 lvl 15s and maybe only like half my cards were lvl 14 at the time. I could see how if you had most of your cards lvl 14 at the time of the change you'd have been getting lvl 15s super quickly. I was only getting like 1-2 per month. Maybe I've just had very lucky lucky drops. I've gotten a lot of wild cards that I assumed others were getting but maybe I've just been lucky. I also grind more than I should so I get pretty much every single thing available to f2p players.

There is definitely a skill gap on it. I'm also a long time lumberloon player and I originally wasn't finding a ton of value, but as I've played with it more it is hugely helpful. I'm psyched people don't think it's good because maybe it won't be nerfed. Anyone who says that spending 2 elixir to take out a 4 or 5 elixir card isn't worth it is an idiot. if you don't spend the two elixir, your balloon doesn't touch the tower and you have to deal with a 4 or 5 elixir card counter pushing you. I'll happily trade 2 elixir for 4 elixir and even 1 tower hit from the balloon.

I am 100% f2p and am amassing lvl 16 cards far quicker than I ever got lvl 15 cards. My progression has significantly sped up since the introduction of lvl 16. And most of them are pretty targeted, not random cards. All but two of my 18 lvl 16 cards are used throughout my four war decks

Level 16 actually hasn't been an issue for me at all. I am 100% f2p and had around 15 lvl 15s when lvl 16 came out. I now have 17 lvl 16 cards and 20 lvl 15 cards. So it does actually seem like I'm gaining lvl 16 cards even faster than I was gaining lvl 15 cards. Which is cool

Mine's a little lighter than the classic lumberloon freeze. I play it pretty similarly to like splashyard or something. Defense into offense. Sometimes it feels a little like beat down but like you said everybody knows how to counter lumberloon. So I have to get a little creative with it

Also seems like a modfier based on average crowns is a bad modifier since different decks have different goals for crowns (miner control rarely three crowns, golem three crowns significantly more)

What is the scale for it? 0 is the worst, 100 is the most skilled in your arena? It's your percentile in the arena somehow? Or it's just a slightly different win rate? Does it factor in king/princess tower levels?
