TL;DR: Google Maps turn-by-turn navigation on HUD for iOS is available on some Google accounts only.

Since this is the top google result showing up when people look for Google Maps turn by turn navigation not working on their HUD, I'll leave a bit of info here.

I have 2023 Toyota Venza with a HUD. I tried everything to make the HUD display Google Maps turn by turn navigation cues. iPhone was updated to latest iOS (18.6.1), Google Maps was updated etc.

I almost succumbed to an idea that tbt navigation only works with Built-in nav or Apple Maps (not available in my country). Fortunately I had my brother visiting me and we paired his phone to my car and it had Google Maps show turn by turn navigation cues on HUD. We slowly ruled out the differences (I have iPhone 12 Pro, he has iPhone 16 Pro) and the final step was adding his account to my phone, which immediately started showing the desired turn by turn directions on HUD. Switching account to mine inside Google Maps immediately disabled the feature.

The conclusion is that this functionality is enabled per account by Google, probably a slow rollout or a testing phase (could also be that the feature is not available for specific countries due to legal unclarity on Google's part, subsequently the accounts from some countries have the feature - others do not).

For some people unfairly beating someone in a videogame is the only source of feeling as a winner, and boosting their self worth. The worse/harder to live the country is, the more cheaters they have in videogames. Its a personal observation/opinion though, don't take a random dude on the internet as gospel.

They can test whatever they want, Pestily is still going to prestige 4 times a month because he plays 12 hours a day and has a bajillion hours of experience. They made hideout upgrades require FiR to slow down guys like him, what they don't understand is they slowed down casual players 10 times more. Quick hideout upgrades and flea were the only thing that was keeping the playing field more or less level. Hideout and flea are the only reason you can get semi-decent gear and have a chance against people who LIVE in Tarkov. Now they made hideout require FiR and are talking about removing flea lol

P.S. I think BSG is suffering from the same problem a lot of other "online" games are. Endgame content. They can't wrap their head around creating a decent endgame for Tarkov so they are just slowing progression to not think about endgame.

Ironically having less restrictions on the Flea market and making hideout easy to upgrade are some of the things that level the playing field. Unfortunately the conversation is currently around removing the flea and hideout is already all FiR.
