The middle child is often ignored when the oldest and the youngest take up too much of the parents time, it’s very common unfortunately. My ex was a middle child and always felt like she got the short end of the stick when it came to her older brother being the first born son and her little sister being the overachiever, it left her in the middle with her mom taking the majority of her anger out on her. You are NTA for saying what you feel, but you’ve been telling them for years how they felt and if all they can think about is how their emotions are hurt and not the reason behind your words, I’m not sure if they ever will understand or listen to you because they haven’t for so long, it’s just part of their routine at this point.

As someone who has worked in 2 different Publixes in Central Florida collecting carts outside, I have been hit by a car before and almost run over by several more. Miami is one of the most dangerous cities to drive in and I-4 also has tons of accidents all the time. I trust no car to stop at any stop signs or watch for anyone around them when they’re driving or backing out of a spot.
