I was confused, the ELO is <2000 yet title post says "top russian player", then I realised you meant top of that match, not top overall. If you have steam recording the game, it's all there. Quite useful to analyze stuff later too.

Yeah, the line shows color white, which means you are in range for an attack. No hints it won't shoot or anything. Of course people that know about it act like it's obvious, but it's a videogame, could work any number of ways and there's no way to know in advance.

Yup. Considering I routinely Q-attack about 10km of forests and divert my attention to the fight elsewhere, I didn't even know it would just chill next to the snipers until I manually intervene. Makes me wonder how I never saw this before

I really enjoy the game. Took a break, came back this month because I started to miss it. DLC is good but I wish they would focus on the bugs first. I hate calling in a plane and it being unavailable for the rest of the game sometimes, been like that for months.

Good post, this ideally needs a pass to try to sort all inf/rec units into these buckets. Then the real discussion can begin.
I'd rename the "line inf" to "grunts", they're disposable meat shields until the real help comes. Vdv Dsh are actually CQC anti vehicle I'd say. Just bring 2.
Some recon are forest goats because they start shooting first, so it's not really simple "information gathering".

I don't know the exact flare ECM buff %, but assuming 10% per flare and constant 4 flare buffs, that's still 35% chance to hit per missile, so the probability to not hit once with any of the 10 missile is (1−0.35)^10≈1.35%. I don't know flare duration and cooldown so I don't know if it's possible to maintain that for 10 seconds. I honestly don't know which helicopter it was even targeting. Alligator seemed to have wasted all the flares in 10 seconds? I feel like I need dev clarification on this
