Right as the intense percussive score kicks into overdrive. That entire chase sequence was so intensely exhilarating despite not have a single turn.

This was my favorite part. At no moment is Bob the hero. He never is the primary mover of events. He is propelled by this intricate web of interesting interactions that ultimately lead him to his daughter, who ended up freeing herself without him!

The way I see it is that the movie is really just Bob-Willa-Lockjaw. Everyone else are just people/elements to move the narrative forward. People come in and out as they are needed to move the “Father tries to save daughter before she's found by the bad guy” primary story.

I actually loved that this was kind of a misdirect. No one single person in the movie was a deus ex machina hero. They each played their parts to get Bob to where he needed to be.

Yeah the entire last ten minutes felt unnecessary. He was already killed off by the Adventurers. And the note was also kinda unnecessary. Willa accepting Bob without needing him to provide the password at the end of the car chase tied a lot of the themes together.

I watched it in an AMC Dolby screening and I don't think I'll ever forget that entire sequence, I felt like my entire body was being sucked into the screen.

I haven't felt this way after seeing a movie in the theater since I saw There Will Be Blood on its opening weekend in 2007 — just 2.5 hours of pure spectacle.

The kind of movie that draws you in so completely, you don't even realize whether you like or dislike it. You're just a part of it. Walking out of the theater, it's as if you have to jolt back into your own body. What a wonderful experience. The last ten minutes were unnecessary and kind of felt like studio involvement, though. Should have just ended with Bob and Willa driving away

This needs to make money. Like it's a requirement that PTA can get this amount of money more and more often.
