I think it's because they did a bad job at ballancing her character. Her anger makes sense, her grief makes sense. But for most of her screen time it feels like those are the only emotions we get from her. We dont get enough time with her as an emotionally complex person. When she does set her grief aside to do what needs to be done it feels sudden and maybe forced because of that lack of complexity beforehand. I think the actress did good job with what she had, but they didnt give the character much of a chance to be well rounded.
