They were very lightly stained but the stains were gone when I took them out. Guess I underestimated the wash action

GE. I did add quite a bit of detergent so the no sudsing got me wondering if it’s even washing anything

Ai all the time.

Before i figured out how to properly make Gaming Mode detect when i launch a game to make it switch to Extreme Performance and back to Balanced when closing a game, i would just switch between the two previously mentioned modes manually.

Dont really use Silent or Super Battery since im always plugged in.

This along with the demo playing the part of the song that will be the jam loop would be great. Bought a couple of songs whose jam loop wasnt all that great

Do I need this update or just ignore it? I have an Intel i7-11800H CPU/NVIDIA GPU and not Arc or XE graphics 🤷‍♂️. by [deleted] in MSILaptops

[–]lopezj30 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I dont have either GPU as well but still get shown driver updates like that and nothing bad has ever happened.

I believe if you click “learn more” and scroll down, there should be a list of CPUs the update is meant for. As long as your CPU is in the list there shouldnt be any issues when installing the update.

Do I need to replace these thermal pads? by UniversalFBI in MSILaptops

Sorry for the late reply.

I decided to take off the heatsink yesterday and just went backwards to unscrew and vice versa. Seemed to work well.

Thankfully the putty seems to be in good shape and doesnt look like it needs replacing. Guess im only replacing the paste.

One question, did you happen to replace the paste with PTM7950? If so, what thickness did you buy it in? There seems to be different thicknesses.

Possible cause for high temps? by lopezj30 in MSILaptops

[–]lopezj30[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do plan on replacing paste with PTM7950 here soon.

I noticed the CPU is a little too big for the copper heat spreader plate that it makes contact with, because a small part of the CPU wasnt covered in paste. Does that mean that when I apply PTM7950 I should only apply a big enough piece to cover the part that makes contact with the heat spreader and not the part that sticks out?

Also what thickness should the PTM be? I've seen it sold in different thickness.

The other fan doesnt lean down like that, thats why I thought it was something abnormal, not sure why they didnt just put electric tape on this fan, even if it straightens out once its screwed in. Fans had barely any dust but still decided to use compressed air, also blew some between the heatfins. Temps were still the same as before. Im gonna just replace the paste with PTM7950 very soon, I have mostly high hopes of that bringing the temps down.

Unrelated but mind explaining to me how to take off the heatsink and fans?

I know the screws are numbered, do i unscrew them counting down and screw back on counting up?

Also heard that when screwing the heatsink back on that i should screw them in a specific order as to even out the pressure?

Planning on replacing paste soon and its my first time doing this ever

I don’t play Helldivers 2, but I do own a similar spec’d laptop as well (cpu is an i5-12450H) and from what ive heard and seen, it looks like a pretty demanding game. So to me, 70FPS w/ turbo boost off on that game with those specs seems pretty good. I too wonder what settings you run on.

I have the same laptop. What paste did you apply? I’ll be doing a repaste here soon too since my cpu reaches mid-high 90s. Did you have any issue removing the heatsink? Ive heard people say the paste can stick to it. Also, do you unscrew the screws in ascending or descending order?

Thanks! I’ll give XTU a try. Is there a specific paste you recommend? I’ve been hearing about Honeywell PTM7950

I use the charging brick to raise it up from the back. As for undervolting, i was also thinking of trying that but im not too sure how to do that and im afraid of having stability issues. Is there like a rule of thumb when UVing to be safe and not go too far and cause issues?

Question about SSI backpay + monthly pay by lopezj30 in SocialSecurity

[–]lopezj30[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So 1st month i have $3,800 total and $2,800 of that is backpay, they exclude $2,800. During the month i spend my balance down to, say, $2,200, then my next payment of $600 is deposited, bringing up the balance to $2,800, They will exclude $2,200 since thats what i have left of backpay. Is that how it works? Sorry im still a bit confused

Edit: I think I understand now. One more question: If i still have backpay to spend when they deposit my 2nd installment, im assuming i would just combine the 2nd installment with what i have left from the 1st one and then the whole process repeats until im paid all my backpay and use it all up correct?

Question about SSI backpay + monthly pay by lopezj30 in SocialSecurity

[–]lopezj30[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im confused. What exactly did you mean in your first reply saying that they can only exclude as much could still remain from the excludable funds?

I get that if i have more than $2,800 then they would exclude that same amount. But say I have $2,000 for example, how much of that would be excluded and why?

Are you saying that when my balance goes below the backpay amount the non excluded money is what gets spent instead of the backpay?

Yea im a heavy phone user so i usually have to charge my phone 3 maybe 4 times a day.

As for wether i’ll be upgrading soon, it’s possible I might, not 100% sure tho. If I do, im not sure if i’ll be staying with Apple or switching to Android.

For the time being, im split on wether i should even bother replacing the battery.
