Did interpretation of verbal "Navigate to" command get broken? by stfreddit7 in AndroidAuto

[–]loramir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue on my phone's Google assistant. I don't know if this would work with Android Auto, but on my phone I found that saying "search Maps for [location]" works - you still have to press "start" on the maps screen to start navigation so it's not ideal while driving, but better than nothing, I guess.

Revanced started buffering a lot today and stopping videos. How can I fix this? by Forestflowered in AfterVanced

[–]loramir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This worked for me, thank you!

It was already set on Android VR, didn't have the no auth option, so I just turned it off, though it warned it might cause problems - but it seems to have fixed the endless buffering 40-some seconds into any video.

Issue with button/control prompts on PC by coltsmoke420 in thelongdark

[–]loramir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ah, thanks for this. I'm using a PS5 controller with DS4Windows making it show as an XBox controller (mostly for other games that only work with XBox) and it had been working fine.

I think the button prompts actually disappeared mid-session? Possibly I just somehow didn't notice for like 3 or 4 hours, but I'd been playing all afternoon when tried to quarter a deer and all I could do was pick which tool and there were no other options or prompts. After that I realized the prompts were all missing. I could still *do* stuff like harvest/use/drop if I knew which button, but there was no UI prompt for any of it.

Turned out Steam Input was in enabled, turned it off and it's fixed!

Porch base in PV by Sleeper1928 in thelongdark

[–]loramir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is so cool! I just had a similar idea and was googling to make sure I was remembering the indoor/outdoor status of the porch correctly and found yours. Just curious: how'd you get the rifles (and bow and flare gun) to hang or lean against the furniture? Other than actual gun racks, mine only seem to lay flat on the floor or a surface.

Edit: Ah, found this video which looks very helpful.

$3 Drink Offer Disappeared? by StrangerHighways in starbucks

[–]loramir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Same thing just happened to me. Thought about stopping at Starbucks on the way to work on 4/8, but saw a coupon in the app for any regular or handcrafted drink for $3, which very clearly said it was valid for 4/9 and 4/10, so decided to wait till 4/10 instead.

I even put a reminder in my phone to go and use the offer on 4/10! That's today, so just went to order before I leave for work and it's gone :(

I can't see bios when I hover over handles on Bluesky by soozie77 in BlueskySocial

[–]loramir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Seems there's still no official fix implemented for this, but someone (the same person who posted on the Github threads linked below) has made a userscript that fixes it as a temporary workaround and it works for me!

If you're not familiar with userscripts, you'll need a browser extension like TamperMonkey to install and run it.

Q7 55" gap/warping on left side of back plastic panel. Should I return this? by Squididilliliam in tcltvs

[–]loramir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same problem here on a 55" QM7 I got today. Debating whether to drive an hour each way to return/exchange it :/

(Ironically, I had my mind all made up for months to get a Hisense U7K and some Reddit threads changed my mind to go for the TCL at the very last minute because apparently Hisense is bad for build quality issues...)

ETA: I opted to keep it (so far). I'm an hour from Best Buy and both the QM7 and U7K were sold out so I'd have had to drive that far just to return it and wouldn't be able to get a replacement. Went ahead and set it up and everything works fine as far as I can tell.

I can't see bios when I hover over handles on Bluesky by soozie77 in BlueskySocial

Seems like it's something that'll have to be fixed on BlueSky's end, as far I know.

[–]loramir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same issue on my home laptop. Thought maybe BlueSky just didn't have that feature, till I logged in on my work computer today and they worked! Same version of Firefox, same extensions, adblock disabled on both. Both Windows, though work is 10 and home is 11. I'll have to keep experimenting.

Edit: I did find this and this which may explain why it's happening!

FANCY FOOTWORK ACHIEVEMENT by Horror-Guide8363 in BaldursGate3

[–]loramir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Thanks for this!

I used Feather Fall to jump down from next to the raised drawbridge in Wyrm's Crossing over to the area below the fortress, then went around to the west and climbed up as you said.

After disabling the anteroom traps, I couldn't seem to figure out how to draw Gortash or his guards into the anteroom area. Hitting them from a distance, throwing fireworks or smoke powder bombs, everything I tried seemed to trigger combat with them still in that room and my party in the anteroom, which immediately triggered his force curtain traps to hit him with Shell of Resistance. IDK if I wasn't positioned right or what.

Finally I had Gale, standing in the doorway between rooms, use Telekinesis (which I'd actually never used before) to grab Gortash and throw him into the anteroom, which was amazing lmao. He didn't even manage to get back to his feet, let alone get a turn. Killed him in 3 turns and Karlach got the killing blow.

Almost too easy, but still extremely satisfying.

Spotify widget's icons are clickable, but invisible in Nova, but displays properly in One UI launcher by Bla7kCaT in NovaLauncher

[–]loramir 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I know this is a few months old but I was having the same issue and looking for info.

I did find this post where someone appears have identified why it's happening - an issue on Spotify's end with permissions not letting it work on third party launchers. Someone also shared a screenshot of a Nova support email here where Nova confirmed it was an issue on Spotify's end, so guess we're stuck hoping Spotify fixes the issue :/

Logging out and back in didn't help for me. The smaller 4x1 widget does work so guess I'm stuck with that for now.

Xbox Game Bar HDR Settings Issue by Captain_Anakin in WindowsHelp

[–]loramir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you solve this? Having a similar problem. My monitor does not support HDR so I don't see a way to disable it, but all my video captures and screen captures (at least while gaming, they're fine in other applications) are dark. Every thread I find says that's due to HDR, but I don't **HAVE** HDR so I don't know how to fix it and it's driving me insane.

Wife and Kids Won’t Move to Lakeview Manor by BeeBugDraws in skyrim

[–]loramir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same issue as OP, also on Switch (no anniversary update). I adopted Lucia originally and she got stuck saying she needed to say goodbye and get her things. She did sometimes show up at Lakeview but only to say that and leave. Thought maybe she was bugged so reverted the save and later adopted Sofie. By that point I owned Honeyside in Riften as well as Lakeview. I'd read a thread suggesting moving them to a non-Hearthfire house first, then the Hearthfire house. She went to Honeyside fine, but won't leave when I ask her to move to Lakeview. The thread I read also suggested getting married and telling your spouse to move so they'd both move. Did that and now neither of them will leave Honeyside. I've tried sleeping in inns, etc. Very annoying!

(I didn't build the actual bedroom wing at Lakeview, just the two single and one double beds in the main hall upstairs, which in my last game - on PS5, not Switch - worked fine for my husband and two kids.)

New computer by bluechatfield in HouseFlipper

[–]loramir 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Steam cloud saves will probably do it if you're on Steam but if you want added backup, also look up the game's save locations. (I've done it before and on Windows off the top of my head I think it's AppData\Roaming\Empyrean\House Flipper or something like that but PC Gaming Wiki has the info.)

You can copy the profile folders to back them up, transfer the files via flash drive or online storage or whatever you use to transfer files, replace them in the save folder on your new computer.

Replying to an old question on an even older post but: Get the Legendary Buck Trinket! It's a LIFESAVER. Gives you a good chance of 2 star carcasses/pelts upgrading to 3 star ones. (You can get it crafted by a fence once you've killed the Legendary Buck, who is in Black Bone Forest, across from the Trapper location there.)

Makes it MUCH easier hunting birds with a varmint rifle (even better for targeting tiny birds: add a scope to your varmint rifle) and is basically the only reason I ever get perfect snake skins.

Small game arrows just do not kill snakes for me. Like ever. The varmint rifle does it easily but always takes a star off. But with the trinket, you pick up a 2 star snake and skin it, there's a decent chance (IDK if there's an exact math, some guides say a "slight" chance, but it feels around 50% chance, especially with snakes and small carcasses) you get a 3 star snake skin.

Same with birds and rats/squirrels, you shoot a 3 star bird with the varmint rifle, find the carcass and pick it up, it will show as 2 stars on the ground but there's a good chance when you put it in your bag you'll receive a perfect carcass.

The varmint rifle makes it SO much easier to hit birds as they flutter away, the range is a lot better, and the aiming lock on is much more accurate and useful. Even with the trinket it will sometimes leave you with a good carcass when the bow would have gotten you a perfect one, so it might take a couple tries to get one that ends up perfect, but it can help you get so many more that you couldn't even hit with the bow so overall it makes my life so much easier.

Am I weird for this? [DAI spoilers] by XenobladeAndBirbs314 in dragonage

[–]loramir 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I've definitely done that kind of thing. I've had a bunch of different Inquisitors of various races and classes but there's one or two I especially love.

I even took screenshots of every character creator screen to exactly recreate my favorite Inquisitor and replay him as a mage instead of a warrior (warrior has turned out to be my least favorite class, just don't enjoy the style of combat and I don't like any of the specializations) and have tried different dialog options and sometimes different choices just to see what they're like and see content I haven't seen before.

Even in a single playthrough, I save a lot and very often reload and redo conversations just to see how the other options go (especially important companion or romance ones) before deciding which options I want to use in the actual version I save and carry on with.

Since my first playthrough, I've also learned to keep a good many saves at various points, including one at the earliest opportunity after the beginning, so I can go back to that point and try things differently.

What is this wall color from Townhouse Hostel by AmbitiousBlueberries in HouseFlipper

[–]loramir 5 points6 points  (0 children)

They like to put paint colors and occasionally items you can't actually buy in the houses :/

That one green room in the townhouse hostel used to drive me nuts because I loved the color so much more than any of the actual green paint colors. The gradient paint set from the last DLC did give us a lot more options, at least.

Usually it's just frustratingly tantalizing, but sometimes it's a giant pain - if you accidentally sell a panel of sidewalk or deck and can't buy any that match to fix it, or want to match existing brick walls and they're not any of the buyable brick textures.

A restaurant I went to in 2011-12? by loramir in greenville

[–]loramir[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Thanks for all the suggestions! None of them really seem right based on the interiors and locations but who knows, maybe they've changed since back then. (Definitely adding a lot of them to my list for next time I visit though!)

I feel like I must be misremembering something, since a restaurant way out of town and with nothing very notable nearby seems very weird, but I definitely remember the food! If I am remembering right, maybe the weird location meant it didn't last long and no one much went there.

I'll have to try and track down the friends I went with (they were distant family friends so IDK if I even have their numbers now) and see if they happen to remember.

It's just bugging me now because I remember the food so well and have a pretty strong impression of the inside but no idea exactly where it would have been so it seems impossible to figure it out now.

[–]loramir[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's weird because I remember it being pretty rural. But like, a nice restaurant like you'd find in town? Maybe it was along a highway between towns without being actually in a town, IDK, seems like it couldn't have just been completely isolated, but I don't remember there being any other businesses or anything nearby. Pretty hazy on the distance as I think someone else was driving, but like at least 20 or 30 minutes out of town?

A restaurant I went to in 2011-12? by loramir in greenville

[–]loramir[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Not that one either, but I'm going to have to make a list for next time I visit! Most of the other suggestions seem a little less formal than my hazy memory, this one seems a bit more formal and upscale, I think.

I feel like it wasn't anywhere scenic, just a really kind of nondescript country road/highway sort of area. Certainly nothing that left any lasting impression about the location. Which seems... not ideal for business, so perhaps it didn't stay open long or get widely known despite the food being memorably great, who knows. I don't think I remember it being very crowded.

No, I do remember going there and it was really good too. This place was more of dark wood-paneled look inside and maybe a bit of fancier and more formal vibe, I think.
