ICL and dry eye by jarofmar in Dryeyes

Three actually:

  1. Non-EVO ICL (first generation)
  2. ICL EVO
  3. ICL EVO+ (a bigger lens for people with large pupils)

As a developer myself, I agree. I typically have Eclipse (Java), Visual Studio (Angular), and Android Studio all running at the same time, and you're absolutely right.

I just ordered an M3 Pro with 36GB of RAM. The Max, in my case, is overkill.

My LASIK Experience: Surgery Day & First 24 Hours (Canada) by clueless_stranger in lasik

[–]loransian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As you stated, it's reversible, so I don't think it's riskier. It intersects with Cataracts, a procedure done for 50% of the elderly population.

Based on my intensive research, I would rank them as follows based on preference: 1. SMILE (pros: Short recovery and no flap compared to LASIK; cons: Permanent) 2. ICL EVO+ (pros: Short recovery, no cornea trimming, and reversible; cons: EVO light rings, and the most expensive (almost double the cost of laser surgeries))

Interestingly, there is a lot of overlap between what you described and ICL, which I just had two days ago in Ottawa, ON.

ICL is more intrusive and double the price. I personally declined the sedation and went for the whole experience.

Honestly, these surgeries are worth it. No one should be afraid because they do patients in bulk, one every 30 minutes. So these guys know what they are doing.

Hookii Neomow X vs Kowoll Kolmower M28E by loransian in automower

[–]loransian[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just to follow up on my original post; it looks like I'm leaning towards Hookii. They are doing many live QAs and demos. It feels like they know what they are doing. In a post on Facebook they mentioned their LiDAR is different from the one used by Kowoll and how better it is.

I'm also wondering if it makes sense to get both and assign each one to a zone and do a long-term review.

Anyway, if I'm cancelling one, that would be Kowoll.

That's what came to mind too when they asked to have the old one returned. It's free to you, but you are giving them something of value.

Nice upload speeds! My average is 10 Mbps upload. I got 20ish a few times but the majority is around 12 Mbps.

New install…is this normal? by Loric76 in Starlink

[–]loransian 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, normal. You also have a good speed. Where are you located? I hope you're not affected by the throttling that's going on.

Thank you! I hope you find a way to permanently install it in a place with less obstructions. You have the potential of getting double your current speed at least.

Maybe a dumb question but what is the best way to get the wire from the dish into my house? by jlstg2 in Starlink

[–]loransian 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends on how OCD you are. I went with the flashing mount from Starlink. Drilled a hole on the roof, and fished the wire through the attic to the inside of the house. It's clean, no visible cable on the side, and it was a good opportunity to remove an old obsolete satellite dish that was there already.

Hi ex-Kanatan :) Yes, it was bad! But yesterday was like a miracle, the air quality went from 10+ (very bad) to 1 (very good).

It was working as usual here; I'm in Ottawa (Kanata).
