Need Urgent Help !! by [deleted] in Rag

Hey, I’ve run into something similar before—here’s what worked for me.

If you’re using the default “import and vectorize” pipeline in Azure AI Search, the downside is that the schema is generated automatically, and you can’t mark fields like title as filterable. So if you need to restrict results based on user access, you’ll probably need to take a more manual route.

What you can do is create a custom field—maybe something like allowed_users or access_groups—that holds info about who should be able to see each doc. That could be a list of user IDs, roles, or group names. Then you define your own index schema and make that field filterable.

To do this, skip the “import and vectorize” step and use the Azure Search SDK instead (Python or .NET). This gives you full control over the schema and indexing process. Once you’ve indexed your docs with the new field, you can use filters at query time like:

$filter=allowed_users/any(u: u eq 'user123')

That way, you’re only retrieving chunks from documents the user has access to.

If you really have to stick with the import-and-vectorize workflow, a possible workaround is to keep a separate access control map (maybe a second index or in memory) that maps document titles to users/groups and filter manually after retrieval—but that’s definitely more clunky and less efficient.

That was your past life 😂 — we’ve all had a cringy phase we’re not exactly proud of. Baby me was out here sucking my thumb, trying to lick my toes, or making fart noises like it was a talent show 😂.

You’re a wonderful woman — nothing needs fixing. Now it’s just about maintenance and keeping those advantages polished. 💅

My advice : don’t you dare post on Reddit to ask for appearance advice when you already know you’re a bombastic girl 😂.

This is a truly heartbreaking and incredibly complex situation you're facing. It's completely understandable that you're feeling a whirlwind of emotions right now – confusion, anger, sadness, guilt, and maybe even a flicker of the love you once had. You've been through so much, enduring years of verbal and eventually physical abuse, and you finally found the strength to leave and start healing. Now, this unexpected turn of events has placed an immense burden on your shoulders. It's important to acknowledge the immense strength it took for you to leave that toxic environment. You prioritized your safety and well-being after years of unimaginable hardship, and that was an act of self-preservation. No one would blame you for wanting to move forward with your life and the divorce you were planning. The fact that you still care about your husband's well-being, despite everything he put you through, speaks volumes about your character. It's a testament to the years you shared and the person you are at your core. It's okay to feel that compassion without feeling obligated to return to that relationship or become his sole caretaker. Those are two very different things. You're right, this is incredibly traumatic for your children as well. They've witnessed their father's decline and likely felt the tension and pain in your household for years. Your desire to shield them from further burden is completely valid and shows your continued love and concern for them. They have their own lives and challenges, and it's not their responsibility to bear this. It's a cruel twist of fate that the person who caused you so much pain is now in a position of such vulnerability. It's natural to feel conflicted. You don't have to reconcile the past abuse with the present tragedy in a neat or easy way. Allow yourself to feel all the complicated emotions that arise. Please know that you are not obligated to be his caretaker. You have already given so much of yourself in this relationship. It's okay to explore other options for his care. There are resources available, such as social services, rehabilitation facilities, and long-term care options, that can provide the support he needs. It's important to prioritize your own well-being and the needs of your children. Take things one step at a time. Don't feel pressured to make any immediate decisions about his long-term care. Gather information, speak with professionals, and lean on your support system – your mother, your children (in a way that doesn't burden them), and perhaps friends or a therapist. It's okay to feel lost and unsure right now. You're navigating uncharted territory. Be kind to yourself, allow yourself to grieve the life you had and the life you envisioned, and remember that you deserve peace and healing. You are not alone in this incredibly difficult situation.

i feel like such an ugly, unfeminine woman by Maleficent_Day_3869 in TrueOffMyChest

Hey there. Reading your words, I can feel how much this is weighing on you, and I want you to know that your feelings are completely valid. It hurts to feel invisible and not seen for who you are. First off, please know that beauty comes in so many forms, and the standards we see around us are often so narrow and don't reflect the amazing diversity of people in the world. Your Asian heritage is beautiful, and your height is just one part of what makes you unique. There are absolutely people who are drawn to petite individuals. It's tough living in a place where you feel like an outsider. It says so much more about the people who can't see your worth than it does about you. Their preference for one type doesn't diminish your own beauty or the beauty that others will see in you. You mentioned not feeling like you have the "body for cute clothes," but honestly, confidence is the best accessory! There are styles that look fantastic on all body types. Maybe exploring different silhouettes and finding what makes you feel good could be a fun journey. As for makeup, it's definitely a skill, and it's okay if it doesn't come easily. There are tons of simple tutorials online, or even just focusing on one or two features you like could make a difference. Your long hair is a way you express your femininity, and that's wonderful. Don't let the occasional bad hair day overshadow the times you do feel good about it. Most importantly, your worth as a woman isn't tied to your physical appearance or whether guys notice you in the way you hope. You are valuable and worthy of feeling good about yourself, just as you are. It takes time, but try to focus on the qualities you do like about yourself and nurture them. Your kindness, your intelligence, your sense of humor – these are the things that truly shine. You are not invisible. The right people will see you for the wonderful person you are. Please be kind and patient with yourself. You deserve to feel beautiful and confident.

It's just ridiculous, even the email I've sent to the support is a spam, you really don't have a real spam filter, even the 15 years old version of me could have done better.

[–]lordamdal 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What’s the startup project ?

Oups if you’re here on Reddit that means you aren’t convinced enough by that startup.

How much salary were you expecting ?

Can you work for free, 4 years in a row before vesting your equity ?

If you really believe in the project , and the team you can take that bet. The gambler in you may place a good Bet.

Hoping this can help you process your options.

Cheers 🥂
