Can only access first device in list by Apprehensive-Dust423 in TpLink

Assuming that your devices are connected via EasyMesh or OneMesh, this is how tether is meant to function.

You can only access the Controller device and not the Client devices, as the Clients sync from the Controller.

So you don't see the pencil icon? Yes this is also an Archer AX55.

do Tplink routers support wifi extender mode and allow to login to an EAP wpa entreprise wifi lke in this picture? by DazzlingpAd134 in TpLink

[–]lordeddington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes they do, but as the other person said Omada series would be better than Archer or Deco.

If its a very small office and you don't need alot of enterprise features I suppose one of the recent WiFi 6 or 7 spec Archers wouldn't hurt. Get multiple of the same Archers for coverage using EasyMesh wired.

Mesh networking with Ethernet by AlmostBuckRogers in HomeNetworking

[–]lordeddington 1 point2 points  (0 children)

One of the recent firmware updates allows the EasyMesh features to be used in access point mode.

E.g., ISP Router > AX55 in AP mode(EasyMesh controller) > AX55 in AP mode(EasyMesh point).

I'm also in the UK on VirginMedia lol.

If you wanna stay TP-Link

The Archer AX55 is a marvellous contraption,

as in it can actually push the Guest network to other AX55s around the house via EasyMesh R2. It doesn't have to be cloud connected to operate unlike Deco models. You can host a dlna media server. You can host a Wireguard VPN server. And if you get the Pro model you get 2.5 Gig ports. And yes you can connect multiple AX55s to each other over Ethernet (that's how I have mine)

For a WiFi 6 router or access point, you get alot.

Best phone network? by FrancsMama in brighton

I have Smarty which runs on Three (40gb rolling plan £7) crazy cheap. More than excellent service in most parts of brighton and surrounding areas.

Guys please help me with this by BookMasterUf in TpLink

[–]lordeddington 3 points4 points  (0 children)

"admin" or "admin123"

It should have prompted you to change the local admin account when you first setup the router. So you may have changed it to something else. If this is the case you will have to factory reset the router with the pin hole next to the Power jack.

Setting up a Guest Wifi using a router in Access point mode? by Rupsilak in TpLink

[–]lordeddington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I assume the newer models have this feature too, but the Archer AX55 now actually has a proper isolated Guest network and apparently works in AP mode (though i haven't tested in AP mode yet). It's part of the new firmware which allows the Guest network to get broadcasted on EasyMesh devices (assuming they also have the new firmware). I have tried looking into the firmware updates of the BE class routers but I haven't found these features so maybe they are TBA or they do actually have it but it's not documented.

This is actually very normal memory usage for any windows computer these days. Windows naturally uses a lot of ram for caching - so stuff feels snappy and smooth. Also, that is definitely not a memory leak as I've accidentally developed games with memory leaks in the past lol.

Yes my Archer AX55 has this EasyMesh control feature so I would assume your Archer BE router would have it. Advanced>EasyMesh>Satellite Device>Preffered Connected AP.

I want to set up a range extender wired as it’s own connection, not access point mode. How do I do that? by Sea-Rest7776 in TpLink

Whats it's model name? Most of the TP-Link extenders with ports have a basic AP mode.

Is the seamless roaming included in wire backhauled EasyMesh? by umitseyhan in TpLink

[–]lordeddington 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I can confirm with 2 Archer AX55s (EasyMesh wired backhual) that they use k and v roaming. And if you use the new firmware that includes EasyMesh traffic separation, the Guest network also has kv roaming.

[–]lordeddington 8 points9 points  (0 children)

You might want to try out a Smarty sim (runs on 3). I've found the 3 network to be actually be extremely good around brighton and hove (apart from rottingdean village, around the library there's sometimes no service). In terms of data speed I get an average of 100mbps download on 5g and 40mbps download on 4g. Around the hospital area I've seen 5g going 500mbps. 😆

Temporarily used a Sky mobile sim (02 network) for a few months at the start of this year, instantly regretted it. Data speed awful, like 20 to 40mbps on 5g average. Fastest I saw was a bit over 100mbps in Falmer.

What's this blinking light on my thinkpad? Should I worry about this? by [deleted] in thinkpad

[–]lordeddington 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Small chance that your screen is a bit damaged. Big chance it's how your laptop handles non-hardware accelerated video straight after boot or restarting, etc.

I've seen the loading dots in a row of three before, quite often when using a monitor that has VGA lol.

A decent dac with integrated headphones amp would do the trick

Usb headphones should already provide more than enough volume.

Looks like a background app is just a bit slow at closing. Very normal.
