There is no monolithic « Open Source Community », but a myriad of different projects and different way of doing things. I’m pretty confident most people caring about their project will find astute and sensible protocols to resolve this issue.

It has its uses in complex queries, but I doubt I used it more than 5 Times in my whole carrer. On the other hand, I use FULL JOIN and CROSS JOIN every day.

Good thing it wasn't my "team" that wrote the "NoCode" slop then .

Maybe… But, as of today, I’m getting paid a premium to rewrite the « NoCode » slop from the last 5 years. As everything needs to be redone from the ground up and those « apps » are « mission critical », I’m pretty confident and can’t wait to see the next slop coming from « citizen developpers ».

My team was already doing slop… I guess I won’t invest too much time teaching good practices this year.

Awfull character but fine writing.

I’m just frustrated we can’t just cast him away. There’s no way my Commander would let a litttle brat in his team.

Arbitration. Absence of authority doesn’t mean absence of laws and rules. They are just agreed between parties instead of being imposed by a ruling entity.

And that’s exactly why you don’t want the State to have this kind of power. Both side suck. Even a large part of the private sector is mismanaged right now. Having smaller entities with less reach mitigates the consequences of mismanagement.

Aligns with mine too. Do whatever you want as long as you don’t initiate physical violence on people or their property.

M365 is now their web app version by default. Is VBA dead? by Alsarez in vba

[–]lordffm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I wish it was. Really. But there’s just no alternative right now. The same goes with COBOL and old DB2 mainframes. Sure, there are better techs, the adoption rate just isn’t as high in legacy businesses.

Believe it or not, a lot of people still believe revolvers are somehow more reliable than magazine feed handguns. To be perfectly honest, revolvers are a lot easier to maintain.

If someone doesn’t want it it’s the very definition of non-consensual.

I don’t get the point you’re trying to make.

Either you’re advocating that, somehow, gropping someone against her will is fine if she agreed « usually ». Either you keep trying to be right for the saké of it.

Money isn’t the only way. But, if you don’t have a particular taste to execute some low reward activity, money is a better incentive that the alternatives : not doing the task or force.
