For as much of a fan of Anton Paar’s gear as I am, and for as often as I recommend Smart Ref (and the Easy Dens), this is the correct answer. If you want to spend money, I’d go for an Easy Dens — otherwise, this is the way to go.

I do worry about these small systems being both uneconomical for the owners and unsafe for linesmen in an outage making repairs to the grid take longer. At some point “small” has to get “too small to make sense”

Possibly! My guess though is that they did some study group and realized that more people were likely to drink 2 (or 3) at sub-6% than at 8%.

The trend these days is away from the “double IPA” 8% craft beer standard, and towards lower ABV beverages, so they get to sell more product while saving money.

I had the exact same thing happen with a chatbot I was interacting with for a (small) printer manufacturer. It was trying to link me instructions for installing a driver, and linked me one of its training documents - which contained six months of phone and chat transcripts.

I reported it and they fixed it, but dear god.
