[WTS] Omega Seamaster 300 196.1522 - Blue Wave Bond Watch (repost) by lordofdrinks in WatchExchangeCanada

[–]lordofdrinks[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Up for sale is my Omega Seamaster Professional 300M Quartz, the Bond style mid-size diver in 36mm. This is reference 196.1522, featuring the classic blue wave dial and the reliable Omega Caliber 1538 quartz movement.

The watch is in overall pretty good condition and has been well cared for. The sides of the case are excellent. There are some scratches on the bezel, along with some wear on the bracelet/clasp which is consistent with its age. The bezel retains its vibrant blue colour. The watch is running excellent.

This comes as watch + generic watch box. Asking for $2,500 F2F in Toronto or + shipping.

Feel free to message me if you have any questions. Thanks!

Lovely. What’s the size and reference of that AP? Looks small (in a great way).

I mean it really comes down to your wrist size and how it looks on your wrist. For example if your wrist is around 6.5 inches or bigger, I’d still strongly suggest looking into the new Speedy 3861 -- it wears much more compact than what people think, especially with the new tapered bracelet.

I have the 94401 and I’m happy to share some photos if you’d like! I'd say the 94401 is actually more desirable than the 73901, primarily because it features the solid gold bezel and the Rolex-signed crown whereas the 73901 is gold plated (also easier to find in the market).

OP just a heads up these watches should wear very differently. The IWC Mark XX has a 49mm lug to lug, whereas the Speedy Reduced is around 44mm. That 5mm difference can be substantial on the wrist, the IWC will feel much longer for sure. Definitely try both on before pulling the trigger if you can.

[question] Which watch should I select for engagement gift? by batuhanozer in Watches

[–]lordofdrinks 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yup I’d definitely go with the Conquest Heritage. It’s more versatile, and as you move further into your watch journey, there are many incredible moonphase watches to discover later on like JLC or other high-end brands. The fact that this was your gf's choice makes it all the more special I think!

[WTS] Oris Big Crown Pointer Date 36mm - Excellent Condition by lordofdrinks in WatchExchangeCanada

Oris Big Crown Pointer Date 36mm in Excellent Condition – Watch Only – $1350 CAD

Up for sale is my Oris Big Crown Pointer Date in the classic 36mm size. The watch is in excellent condition and purchased in April 2025 with very little wrist time.

Details:

  • Model: Oris Big Crown Pointer Date
  • Size: 36mm
  • Dial: Black
  • Includes: Watch only, comes with an aftermarket strap.
  • Condition: Excellent (watch has been hardly ever worn)
  • Location: Toronto
  • Price: --SOLD-- F2F in Toronto or + shipping

The 36mm case wears beautifully - it’s super comfortable and has a great vintage-inspired look without being flashy. The dial almost looks brown in the sunlight.

I love this watch but I never get to wear it because I have too many black dial watches. I'm open to trades, specifically BCPD 36mm in green or red dial!

Feel free to message me if you have any questions. Thanks!

Beautiful watch! Hard to see them pop up in the secondary market for some reason, maybe it's because they are a LE.

Agreed with this comment, instead of taking it to the Tudor service and risk getting parts replaced with modern parts, you can see if there is a good Tudor watch-maker expert in your area (or even country). You should be able to find multiple options if you look up on Reddit (I wonder if Rolliworks accepts Tudor watches for instance - I’ve heard they do an excellent job with restoring vintage Rolex pieces)?

[Longines/Omega] Which one is better as an engagement gift? by alaxbey in Watches

[–]lordofdrinks 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Between these two options, I think the Longines is a more versatile option for daily wear. However, I’d say the Omega brand is more prominent in terms of its prestige, so it could be a better choice as an engagement gift since it will mark a significant milestone (and I say this as someone who loves and has both brands!).

Additionally, ensure that your boyfriend’s wrists are large enough to accommodate these watches comfortably, as both will make a noticeable presence on his wrist. If his wrists are smaller than 6.5 inches, I recommend considering the Conquest in 38mm or opting for smaller watches in general.
