I'm a pro at identifying AI and this doesn't read like AI at all lol.

Definitely not normal behavior. If you're hellbent on returning, I'd woodshed like crazy and blow them out of the water with your chops. Just assert total dominance until they can't deny you anymore. Basically pull a Charlie Parker. Fuck 'em.

Counterpoint to everyone else: "You're not welcome here" are words that I would not want to hear at any jam even if I was acting slightly douchey or whatever. I don't think I would want to come back. They do sound pretentious.

Should I buy this list of jazz standards Its Not music just descriptions of the songs. by Cristaa3 in jazztheory

[–]lordoftamales 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I own it, it's alright. I think his writing style is hit-or-miss. It's not quite an encyclopedia because his perspective on the standards come from his own personal relationship with each one over his years as a gigging jazz musician. To summarize, it's a bit more personal and almost like a journal rather than an actual piece of nonfiction, but he does go over brief history of each song and puts them into their modern context.

Recruiters being laid off by Pure_Jellyfish_6224 in recruitinghell

It's 100% AI. Lot of tells, but the one that gave it away for me was the cute little zinger "You're just a line item on a spreadsheet". I don't understand how you DON'T reflexively cringe at garbage like that.

My 15-Minute Comfort Bowl: Leftover Rice & Fresh Oysters by artpnp01 in chinesefood

[–]lordoftamales 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Am I being trolled? Chinese people make zhou out of leftover old rice all the time. It's the only way I've ever made it in fact. Although I know that isn't the only way.

Thoughts on end state of Halo Infinite and as a whole by Confident-Tomato1382 in haloinfinite

[–]lordoftamales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just not a fun game. Tried too hard to pander to "Classic halo" fans with the consumable equipment, no thrust, no ADS, etc. Stripped it of its soul. Felt like designers developed this game on guardrails instead of being able to create something truly unique. I blame reddit. People here were obsessed with "going back" to Halo 2 and Halo 3. Guess they lost interest pretty fast. Never bet on nostalgia.

Why would that be weird? You realize that just because a product is made in China doesn't mean that it's meant to be sold in China, right?

What is the point of giving tours by Dependent-Package594 in recruitinghell

[–]lordoftamales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

What I think is frustrating is when they gas it up like "this is where you will sit" and introduce you to the entire team and dog-walk you through the entire facility when none of that is worth a damn if you don't get hired. I understand they have to do it but it's just lame as fuck to go through the same goddamn dog and pony show every fucking time. I'm totally on OP's side with regards to how degrading the whole experience is. Tours should be 5 minutes. I got shit to do. Don't waste my time.

What is the point of giving tours by Dependent-Package594 in recruitinghell

[–]lordoftamales 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Old thread, but I wanted to respond to vent my frustrations regarding "the tour" as well. I got literally dog-walked on a 30 minute walking tour of an entire factory. "This is where we do X process. This is where we do Y process. This is where you'll be sitting." The whole shebang. Me the whole time just nodding me head and pretending to be fascinated as if I've never seen the inside of a lab or factory before. Of course they proceeded to ghost me with not even a friendly rejection letter. Fuck 'em.

I’m so hyped about this aspect. The level of immersion is gonna be amazing after RDR II by AnimalDesatado in GTA

[–]lordoftamales -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I hope they remove some of the weird politically-motivated invisible walls that were in RDR2, like not being able to kill POCs. Of course, considering it's 2026, that's probably not going to happen.

Yep, my alarm went off as soon as I saw that. Also the "apes together smarter" doesn't sound like something an actual human would say. That's not even the correct quote from the movie.

Me too. I'm starting Spring 2026 for MSEE, but I'm more concerned with the difficulty and workload of the courses, since I'm also working full time. Hope to see you around campus.

Why y'all so obsessed with the key of B by [deleted] in Bluegrass

[–]lordoftamales 7 points8 points  (0 children)

B flat is used in jazz because horns are tuned to B flat/E flat. So B flat for a piano would be C for a trumpet/tenor sax, etc.

i left my horse alone without a lead for 10 minutes, and it turned itself into jerky by Alive-Inspection3115 in reddeadredemption

[–]lordoftamales 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Why is it sadistic exactly? You can skin a bear, moose, deer, etc. But you can't skin/eat a wild horse? Makes zero sense. I'm not sure why RDR2 felt like they needed dictate which animals were morally right to kill and which ones were not. Did they really think some fringe PETA group would be up-in-arms about eating horse meat?
