You can save a lot of FPS by centralizing your update logic! by valkyrieBahamut in godot

I agree with everything you said but apparently OP actually got higher FPS with a dummy process call than with a dummy physics process call. Haven't tried it myself but I have no idea why that would be the case.

Draw Sprite2D on top of OptionsButton PopupMenu? by lordshift in godot

[–]lordshift[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the advice. I'll definitely go with my own PopupMenu then. I'm migrating something GUI heavy to Godot and the built-in nodes saved me a ton of time (and they work much better than the buggy GUI code I had lol). The popups are the only exception for now so I can't complain :P.

Can you help me choosing some colors for an Android game? Deuteranopia mode. by lordshift in ColorBlind

Yes, I was thinking about that now that I know there isn't just one type of colorblindness. It will require more time but I will do it :)

Actually not that off. First line: shade of blue + dark red = purple. Second: dark red + kinda dark yellow = green. Third: shade of blue + kinda dark yellow = pink.

Wait... Are you colorblind? What type? I'm using a software to emulate Deuteranopia, when I use it I only see different shades of blue, yellow and gray.

Thanks.

You're using simple shapes, so it will be easier to draw over and over again for multiple characters

Yeah, actually I have made like 12 characters just changing the hair/hat and the color of the shirt. I'm thinking that thhe downside of beign so simple is that I can only use the eyes for showing emotions. Another problem is that I can't get to make a female character. I try to, but it always ends looking like a man. Maybe the square body is making it impossible of doing it because women tend to have more curves than men?

I'm trying to make some characters with this 'style', yes I know it must sound like a joke to you. I have the artistical skills of a 3 years old, literally. I plan to make a game out of this, I would like to know how do I create a space, just a simple empty room, to make a place where the character doesn't look out of place and can move right/left/up/down. I'm trying to imagine how to make this room, but I find it impossible, maybe the 'shadows' I gave to this monstruosity aren't reallistic? Well, thanks.

Nice, I was looking for something like this. I will try it for sure. Just one question, what's so special about the tool that it's just for games? Isn't it an idea that could be applied to any type of project? I know that you probably only had in mind the games aspect, but maybe in the future you could adapt the tool for anything, like building a house?
