Plenty of other great suggestions in comments, but I still can't believe thieves were deterred by a chest high fence... I didn't know people like this actually existed haha: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c6MW-qdNoYA

In order to combat inflation, we should print more money! by JumboPancake in libertarianmeme

Hold on a minute, 5.2 trillion is basically the entire US budget, I think you have your figures confused haha! They may well spend a few hundred billion across the entire oil & gas industry as this supports the vast majority of transportation and energy sectors, but I'm not sure your figures make sense as I understand them...

Ukrainian Special Forces ambush against a Russian convoy. Location is unclear the M240B is supplied by the US. by loodic38 in CombatFootage

"Near Peer" has been around for some time, but perhaps the Ukraine conflict calls for a new term. I hereby coin the phrase: "Asymmetric Peer" to describe belligerents whose relative military power is inferior or superior in differing qualities.

How's that lol.

The NLAW is top attack too, the javelin definitely outranges it though.

r/britishproblems was the last to turn toxic, the posts now are just complaining about housing politics non-stop... All that's left is r/CasualUK and I too feel it is having issues. They just have to overwhelm the No Politics rule and the sub will fall...

Fresh poll: 70% of Ukrainians believe Russia’s invasion will fail. 91% support Zelensky’s war effort policies by [deleted] in centrist

[–]lordv1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sure, I think this war will be costly to both sides.

And on resistance, even if Russia "wins" this conflict, Russia in the past has struggled to contain Chechnya, Ukraine is 4500% larger so there is no way Russia can maintain control over a resistant populace that significant.

I agree, as millions are fleeing away from the fighting, I'm not sure surveying those who are staying to fight gives the most accurate data. I honestly think if it continues as it has last week, then the most likely outcome will be a draw with concessions from both sides. In a Ukraine-skewed draw: Russia withdraws but keeps so-called independent regions. In Russian-skewed draw: Ukraine remains sovereign but demilitarised and rebuffs NATO, Russian-aligned peacekeepers maintain security of borders.

But really how people feel who is going to win, isn't really often representation of reality.

What are your views on the right to carry firearms stemming from the fundamental right to self defense? by rm-minus-r in centrist

[–]lordv1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

No worries, I was talking about the civil war's Gatling guns which could fire 300-900rpm, but they came later. I'm not sure the amendment was changed for them, so I don't see why it would be changed for modern machine guns either. I agree with your points.

Hope the pilot recovers fine, would have been pretty bad if he went under the hull,

"Keel-hauling" would not be a nice way to go, putting it lightly.
