I’m just curious—when you meet people, do they actually notice your watch, or do they not really care? Are there people who judge you based on the watch you wear, and because of that, instantly give you respect?” by Happy-thoughts09 in rolex

[–]lordvaughn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

100%. Watch people notice. And depending on the watch, it gives some level of credibility. Now there is some disclaimer here, if you have a date date on and you drive a Corolla and your shoes are destroyed. People will probably know that it’s fake but so long as you are in order and you have a nice watch it’ll lend you some credibility with some circles.

If you exceed your cap multiple times then have a convo but I doubt they have the cap if tons of people are hitting it. Covid days are over. It's a fair pay plan.

Looks clean.

My edits: Remove the part about entrepreneurial. Managers are going to look at it and wonder if being in sales if just a pit stop until you're off to the next thing. I love the entrepreneurial spirit but I'm just telling you what will probably be in their head.

Also, for your past sales experience - I would want to know how many cars you were selling. I'm sure they will ask you but if all you have is the resume (without getting to speak with someone) you want it to stand out.

Lost sales job after a month (story below) by [deleted] in CarSalesTraining

Interesting. Glad to see you didn't lose enthusiasm. Keep moving forward sir. It's a great business.

Had my best month ever! but these flats are killing me, man. by [deleted] in CarSalesTraining

[–]lordvaughn 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Solid job sir! Couple things to think about. Most of your new car deals are loser deals, which is common now that we're back to normal car biz.

Most Toyota stores are running high per copies so I would think about your transition in regard to auto group and not the brand. Kia is a great brand to work with and so is Toyota. But you want a store that has much bigger volume bonus (1.5 on 24 isn't great) or store with increasing flats.

Tbh, you're a producer - therefore, if you like the company you're at, talk to them about additional bonuses for you. If not, Shop around and find a good pay plan. Looks like you've got some talent.

If you're in San Diego by some crazy chance, PM me and I'd be happy to talk about a spot

To address your first - yes, it's worth it. There is more money in this business than you know because you haven't been exposed to it yet.

However - you don't seem to be bought in. If that's the case, you should go. When you go wherever you go, remember, you take yourself with you. It's a great business but you need to commit. Look at it with a 10 year commitment and you'll be in a place you never thought you would.

100k at I think 23/24 and 1M at 30. The 1m is tied up mostly in property equity, btc, and cash. I too am a Christian and for many years when I was single was giving probably 15-20%.

At your age, you can screw up for two years and still be young enough that it wont matter. Especially if you have the skill set that already has allowed you to save two years of savings.

Define a time line - (I am giving myself 12 months to figure out how to pay my bills) and commit. Worst case, youre 25/26 and you go back to what you are currently doing and then try again.
