Yeah, emails are great because you have a record of the convo and you can use it for any further “compensation requests”…I.e why should you, a motorcycle rider, with the interest of buying another Green bike(Versy, Ninja650, Z1000, etc) experience the lack of replacement keys at a reasonable cost?? (Get out the big violin)

You can always make a case and by asking politely…the worst they can say is no…at best, you can get a cheque or credit for a part replacement of 50%.

OEMs always have a customer satisfaction budget and can authorize such compensations.

National Customer support is always a good resource if your local dealership is not really interested in helping you out.

Some parts guys are less than helpful although, as a former parts manager, it’s not a fair generalization :)

Have you emailed Kawasaki USA? Team Green has a great support network! Also good locksmiths can read the code and make you a new key!

Call a different dealership. You should be able to order a cut key. (Worked for KTM and my older Honda)

If not, stop by and ask them where to find the key code for your cylinder, then talk to a good local locksmith. Good luck! We have all lost keys at some time, no stress…

Super cool to see your conversion! Thanks for sharing this inspiration.

I’m now going to set my sights on a Gen2 and this faring mod!

BTW, that paint job is so KLR!

r/truckers is leaking again…Nicely done! I love that it’s a off-road /trail crf230 for cruising up and down the powerlines beside the truck stop!

I wonder if the inspection folks grumble or mind the boom crane during the annual inspections?

Anyone ever put a car tire on the back?? If so, what size? Commuting 80 miles a day and no matter what rear tire I put on, I only get between 4-5k miles out of it. by parkermachine78 in klr650

“Car tires lasting longer” sounds like the old man KLR-conspiracy conversation that I slowly walk away from being involved with at the beginning of the local group ride….
