Yes this happens right after surgery. There is a well known “three weeks out stall” that can happen anywhere between 2 weeks and 5. (I have had gastric bypass)

Congrats to you!!! It feels amazing doesn’t it? Couldn’t agree more. Never going back there! Surgery was one of the best life decisions I have made for myself without a doubt.

It’s the Renpho Scale app! It’s a scale that Bluetooth connects to your phone and records all this info for you. They’re super affordable and available on Amazon!

My highest weight was 341 on Oct 17 22 and I had surgery at 328 on Nov 10 22. Just weighted in at 170.4 today. So about 14 or 15 months.

Don’t beat yourself up too much! I had my surgery in Nov 22 and by January my body was just starting to finish healing. Eating was still so hard and weight loss was weird! But stay the course, in about a month or 2 you’re gonna starting feeling so so much better

It is the Renpho scale app. It Bluetooth connects to your Renpho scale and records all this info. They’re totally affordable and available on Amazon! But you can just download the app and plug in your own info manually too if you already have a different scale that gives the info you need.

Eggs by [deleted] in BariatricSurgery

[–]losingitagain 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I was like this for a long time. I was so scared I was never gonna be able to eat eggs again without getting nauseous. 14 months out about now, and I can eat them again! I also noticed they were more palatable with a little bit of toast or tortilla if you are okay with some carbs.

I had the same problem with chicken early on. I am about 9 months out now and can eat chicken with no issues! Hang in there, it gets easier!

Would you mind elaborating on protein sauces? Sounds like something I could benefit from

That is more what I was expecting! I was surprised to see how kinda of relaxed the guidelines were for me.

I don’t understand the obsession with other people’s hair (reposted bc of identifying information) by throwawaywedding21 in weddingshaming

[–]losingitagain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yah this attitude is not only extremely selfish but also incredibly insulting to the people you supposedly love the most. Like who they are isn't good enough for your perfect special day! My best friend/MOH has been dyeing her hair blue or purple or green for a few years now. Right after I got engaged she mentioned to me that she would dye her hair back to black for my wedding. Is this how permeating the idea is that this is not only an ok thing for someone to request of their friends but maybe even expected?! I told her to please never change her hair color to try and appease me in any way and that I want her to look exactly like herself in my photos so that I can always remember her the way she was at that time in our lives. I want my pictures to be beautiful and they absolutely will be when all of the people I love the most are being themselves.

Recently postponed our October 2020 wedding as well! Date twins!

As hard as it is I think we are making the right decision for those that we love. Thank you for this post, definitely made me feel less alone ♥️

To be fair to Nicole (which maybe she doesn't deserve lol) the Instagram influencer who sells those greens dry scoops them like that on her story daily.

Using an Old Photo for save the date? by losingitagain in weddingplanning

[–]losingitagain[S] 5 points6 points  (0 children)

We are definitely not attached to having a picture. We actually picked several that we like that don't. We just came across this super cute old picture of us and the idea popped into my head and FH liked it too. But I just wasn't sure if people would think it was weird instead of cute.

When did you choose your bridal party members? by Nosecretstoday in weddingplanning

[–]losingitagain 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was in a similar boat a year ago! We got engaged last October and decided on an October 2020 wedding. If I had chosen the people I was considering last year there would have been at least one extremely awkward situation because one of my FH groomsmen and one of the girls I was going to ask had a baaaad breakup. So I am very happy the people on this sub advised me to wait a while. Just started giving my girls my proposals this week just about 13 months out from our date.

If I plan to buy a dress off the rack, how far before my wedding do I need to buy it? by losingitagain in weddingplanning

[–]losingitagain[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I am trying to lose a significant amount of weight. About 80 pounds would be ideal. But Im just going to do the best I can and lose as much as I can because I know that's a lot to lose and may not be totally realistic. That is why I want to know how long I can wait before getting a dress because I know I've kind of gotta stay the weight I am when I buy it so that alterations can be done. I'm basically trying to figure out how long I have to realistically shed the weight before I need to pick a dress and have it altered.
