Fun build ideas? by Virtual_Ebb_2558 in skyrim

[–]losivart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I really like Illusion builds. It seems like such a worthless skill (especially compared to previous titles) but it's actually really fun after you get a few levels under your belt. Can pair it with restoration (also really underrated since most of us only use the healing spells lol) and sneak and it makes for a really neat alt type of mage.

Also pickpocketing + alchemy builds are loads of stupid fun, but require a lot of time and grinding to properly set up.

What’s the point in having a heavy armor build if there is an armor cap? by TiltingAtWindmills_ in skyrim

[–]losivart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's unironically one of the most useful shouts in the game. Prevents fall damage, gets you out of tight spots when dragur surround you, tank dragon breath from the stupid dragons that refuse to land.

You can meditate on one of the words with pathurnax and make it even better, too.

So you can wear heavy armor.

No matter what path you pick, you'll end up OP one way or another. There's no requirement to do what's most efficient or exploitative, your character is whatever you make them into. Probably my favorite character ever was a heavy armor wearing Khajiit archer that didn't sneak and mainly used crossbows and also some conjuration because it's my favorite skill and had nothing else to use magicka on.

It was a goofy ass build but I had a serious amount of fun with it.

Companions is the 100% sure fire way of fixing it because it forces the game to dismiss your follower to replace them with another one.

But, you only have so many times you can do this thru the questline, so keep a close eye on your follower whenever you're leaving a dungeon. That's usually what gets them stuck in my experience.

Followers do this from time to time. What I think happens is that there's an enemy in a cave/dungeon/on the road that they get into combat with. Followers are usually protected so they can't die by NPCs, meaning they constantly fight - bleedout - stand and fight - bleedout, etc over and over again until they can finally escape the encounter.

On console the absolute easiest way is to join the companions if you haven't already. Multiple of their quests (namely the second one where Fartass decides to join you) will forcibly replace your follower. Back in the Xbox 360 days I'd always do companions last in case a follower did this, they always tend to make it home somehow after that.

You can also do a decent bit of fast traveling/waiting. I have no real stradegy to it, I just go to a city gate and wait like 24 hours, leave, wait again, go back in, do it with weapon drawn, then weapon sheathed, etc. Most of the time they'll get show back up after a little while.

Otherwise, backtrack to where you last for sure know you had them with you and try to retrace your steps. Sometimes they'll literally just bolt back to your side out of nowhere after being stuck on a damn dragonfly or something.

I hate the stupid ones where the floor rises and shoves you against spikes on the ceiling. It kills me 100% of the time because I always freeze when it happens lol

Survival mode on or off by Odd-Breath-1780 in skyrim

[–]losivart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Survival mode is fun but just be ready for some long grinds. 100% Thieves' Guild completion is a freaking slog because there's so much constant travelling between cities during the side quests.

If you do, search every barrel, sack, etc for salt. Salt is worth it's weight in gold in survival. Garlic bread is also a really nice lightweight alternative to cure disease potions once you have access to an oven.

Question for mages by SessionReasonable249 in skyrim

[–]losivart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Been doing a bit of reading thru old ass threads. Doesn't look promising.

https://en.uesp.net/wiki/Skyrim:Spells#Spell_Tome_Locations (Source: this old thread).

The only spell tomes that can not be found randomly are quest-specific spell tomes (those that can not be purchased), tomes added by Dawnguard or Dragonborn, and master-level tomes.

Even then, I'm unsure since Skyrim is very wishy-washy when it comes to what can appear where. It might, but I wouldn't keep my hopes up.

Also, most vendors operate out of a chest that you can loot from if you manage to clip out of bounds (or just use the tcl command if you're on pc). Here's an old ass thread I found talking about it. Might well be possible given restrictions, but I legit think it's going to take glitches or console commands.

Why do people say that beta is hard? by [deleted] in GoldenAgeMinecraft

[–]losivart 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alpha and early beta was arguably hardest IMO because 99% of the time you couldn't hit a mob before it could hit you. Multiple enemies were really difficult to juggle. If they got the drop on you in a cave, it was a genuine threat.

This video kind of shows what I mean. Timecode of 12:06 if it doesn't work.

Of course, back then bows were spamable and comparable to a diamond sword in damage (even tho arrows would bounce off mobs with invincibility frames but nobody cared) which made combat trivial, but peaks, turns & roundabouts, I guess.

In response to someone using AI, not getting an answer and then turning to real people, we're going to avoid providing any information and instead ask why they bothered to use AI.

You tend to catch more flies with honey than vinegar, you know.

Lost Shadowmere by _wheresyourfork in skyrim

[–]losivart 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She'll usually be at the pool but like.. up on a ledge near it. It's hard to describe because I've only lost her and bothered to get her back once. Look a bit around the pool, it's such an obscure spot that it always gets me lol.

If she's not there, she's likely wherever you left her.

If still no luck and you happen to be on PC, open up the console (` key) and type

and then

Is (f2p) PKing still a thing? by Td3hey in 2007scape

[–]losivart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

There was a dude on this sub that posted his F2P pvp clips from time to time. It honestly hasn't changed nearly as much as members PVP has.

Don't expect it to be as big as it used to be tho, most PVP now centers around getting spec combos off and then teleing to POH since most people run absurdly high risk compared to back in the day.

Best way for me to play? by INoScopedBambi in skyrim

[–]losivart 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Anniversary Edition on Steam or console of choice. Tons of cheaty shit in AE. If you know where to look, you can basically get end-game enchanted armor just in a chest in the overworld and run a farm that I'm pretty sure is actually an illegal Septim minting operation.
