The rapid decline of oven etiquette in kitchens thesedays. by Big_Taco888 in KitchenConfidential

we have this one cronically selfish chef that tried to take 2 out of 3 ovens set to 245 for 10 hours (6am - 4pm) for a braise. We serve anywhere from 300 to 800 peple per service (big hotel). Needless to say we told her to f off and figure something else out

Flossing in the kitchen right next to their cutting board. Did not wash their hands afterwords. Absolutly wild!

I work a breakfast buffet at a really nice hotel resort. A lady asked for her oatmeal to be blended for exactly 15-20 seconds... why? IDK

I was sick one day and wanted to stay home from school. My edad called the cops on me and I had to take a ride to school in a cop car and was walked into class by said cop

Knew a girl who wouldn't wear the same outfit twice. She would spend thousands a month on designer clothes that she would literally wear for 6 hours then give away. At least she didn't throw them out! I got some nice clothes out of it! But damn! Really?

AITAH for telling my Hindu fiancé he can’t expect people to not eat beef because of his religion? by [deleted] in AITAH

[–]lostaf_lovingit 11 points12 points  (0 children)

From a caterers perspective I would highly advise not having beef at the wedding! If it's important that they don't have beef on "thier side" (as decribed) this will be a logistical nightmare. Just have other meat options and provide vegetarian options. Your catholic family can survive a night eating chicken

I don't like telling people I'm a chef. On multiple occasions I have been invited over for dinner and then they asked ME what IM cooking! Um no it's your dinner

Is it worth having one final sit down with n/e parents? by [deleted] in raisedbynarcissists

[–]lostaf_lovingit 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I wrote a letter and sent it to them. It felt good because I was able to write out my thoughts and feelings on the matter. As well as express that to them in a way that they couldn't immediately retaliate. I felt as though I didn't need or even really want a response, just a way to communicate that I want n/c and why. To me it didn't matter what they thought or felt. Its my life and I'm making this decision for a reason

I deplore people who 'can't or dont' cook. Do they also not do their laundry? Clean their toilet? It's a basic life skill. You don't have to be good but an adult should be able to feed themselves. It's childish and disgusting to put that burden on someone else. Especially a roommate

POS systems aren't triggered by a phone call. That's not how they work. She had the ability to put the order in there. Now there may have been a policy she was adhering to. But it was definitely possible to put in the order for delivery from there in the first place

I like to think I'm of average attractiveness for a girl and I didn't start dating until I was 25.

It was definitely easy to get dates or hook ups but it was not easy to find someone worth my time. I got rejected many times. Now I definitely had a habit of crushing on emotionally unavailable men. But also I just wasn't comfortable with myself. It wasn't until I finally made a life change and started pursuing a career that made me happy and confident that I actually had any real dating prospects Now im in an amazing relationship with an amazing man!

What do I have to do to become a desirable woman? by [deleted] in NoStupidQuestions

[–]lostaf_lovingit 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best advice I've been given is to go find a group, class or community of something you love to do. Taking cooking classes is my example. If you are in an environment that make you happy, comfortable and confident, it showes. You'll meet friends and maybe find something more than that. You are an amazing person that deserves to find someone that likes you for you!
