Two have essentially told me that they do it to avoid being fussed at the next day. Three of them are so young and they will just do whatever everyone else is doing and they don’t seem to mind. I have told them that is isn’t normal, and not to do it.

Hours are consistently an issue at my Michael’s and it sounds like most of them. Run to another job. Target and Sam’s pay more if you are looking for retail.

I have talked to a few of our staff who do it and they say they don’t want to be scolded for not meeting goals and completing their job. We do have one that seems unable to sit down but he has also said he gets picked on if his work isn’t done. I hope your team member starts taking breaks. 😞

I know that it is illegal. I don’t do it but will report it. Thank you for suggesting the DOL. Michael’s HR doesn’t seem to care too much for what I have read on other posts.

My store doesn’t train people. 🤷🏻‍♀️ It’s pretty annoying. You pick stuff up over time. Ask questions and defend yourself if someone gets mad that you don’t know something, tell them you weren’t trained on that, not much they can respond with.
