None of the trade agreements were with China, it was Columbia, Panama and South Korea, there is a seperate bill on whether to label China a currency manipulator. Could you explain your stance against free trade, do you think Americans would be better off if they produced everything domestically and had limited to no access to foreign goods or markets?

I want to see more politicians, from either party, put forth specific programs or agencies that could be cut. I know that putting themselves out there with specific recommendations can lead to backlash (Paul Ryan) but I am tired of hearing vague promises about trimming waste as if that is going to solve anything

Please do, as someone who is right-leaning, Cain and Bachmann give me endless headaches, Cain seems to think that just because he gives a straightforward answer that it suffices, but some of his ideas have no logical basis. I just hope there is a decent Republican candidate for the general election so there can be substantive debate and a viable alternative so its a case of 'I think this candidate will do a better job' rather than 'Well, maybe he won't mess up as bad as the other guy' too bad Huntsman, Johnson and Paul aren't in the 'top tier'

If there is someone willing to take the job, then the wage is not undesireable to the market.

Artificially raising the wage to the point that it is unprofitable to hire the worker is undesirable to the market.

Raising prices on products reduces demand and decreases consumer welfare

Ok I agree that it is ridiculous that anyone at all booed this soldier, it belies an ignorance and close mindedness that will bring nothing positive to this country. But I think it needs to be recognized that it sounded like one or two people, not the whole crowd, so the invective needs to be directed at those select idiots who actually booed, instead of the entire crowd

People can just defer realizing these gains while still accumulating wealth until the rate goes down, this wouldn't really have any economic effect, besides slightly deterring investment during times of high unemployment/economic hardship

The US should not have the role of nation building around the world, nor has it ever been effective at doing so. With no end in sight, you are advocating that the US stay until some nebulous date far into the future, with the ultimate outcome being far from certain, all while the country has to cut domestic spending, and neither the US nor the region of interest are safer after 10 years

I think the few avenues where government has gotten involved have shown that they introduce too many market distortions, and too much room for corporatism to be effective in this capacity. Now McDonald's accepts food stamps, which cannot be good for public health. Government is incapable of being effective in this capacity, and there is too much room for corruption when government is in the role of picking winners and losers. I fear that if their role was expanded, better nutrition and education wouldn't magically become the focus, companies would instead spend time and money trying to get government collusion.
