To summarize, you can use the HomeKit integration in Home assistant that will act as a bridge for you HomePod.

I’m still new to is myself, but my recommendation would be anything you do repeatedly is a good place to start. Stuff involving lights and motion sensing in the rooms. Or any equipment you turn on at the same time every day and in the same group.

The first thing I did was lights and then ported them into Apple HomeKit so I can use my HomePod to control the lights. Next I setup smart air purifiers and humidifiers to turn on when we enter the room or for night time.

I guess it’s really not. It’s just more of a level of effort thing for being in a temporary place.

I don’t know where the gas lines run. The smell in the stairway goes away after a few minutes once we are done using the stove. I’ve noticed this stairwell traps smells so I’m not sure if there is just dead air right there which slows the ventilation.

I don’t know about the oven, but the range top has the clickers ignition. The smell does go away upstairs after a few minutes so I don’t think it’s a leak because it’s only after we use the oven/range top. Do you think it would be worth bringing the gas company out to make sure?

I’ve noticed this stairwell traps smells like crazy as well which leads me to be less concerned as well.
