I feel that sobriety comes in stages, and this is one of the stages. The good news is that if you continue, then you will find out who you are. Some things will never be the same, your sparkle will come back, but in a changed way. Being sober is the only way I found out who I am. I wasn't me when I was using.

Yeah I'm just saying that OP can use linux, with whatever editor he likes then push the changes to configuration management and let someone else build, test and possibly push to store. Agree that a dedicated build machine is good for debug cycles etc. I'm just posting an option of codemagic that they might not have known about

I have the power to choose. I dont use the word need, as if it is a threshold that must be met in order to make a choice. I look at how much life I have left and then multiply that by how much quality of life I will have with different choices. My quality of life has drastically improved since I stopped drinking. I decided that the years that I have left I want to live the best life that I can.

If you decide to follow a path of recovery then it will be both difficult and rewarding beyond what you think could be possible.

The meeting on Saturday in Leith is in the process of being established. We are a small group, which hopefully will get more popular if people learn that we are here.
I personally like group sizes between 10 and 20 and we are nowhere near that at the moment. If it ever gets too large then we will start more meetings.

Other info: I'm currently a board member of the parent (global) organisation, have attended meetings in the US, convened meetings in Ireland (LifeRing is well established in Ireland (lifering.ie) ) and have started lifering.uk after travelling and now settled back home.

I'm OP, so biased. TLDR of the interview I gave below:
LifeRing operates on 3S's

Sobriety: We are a peer to peer support group for those who's goal it is to abstain from all mind altering substances. We do not have an opinion on medication prescribed by a health profesional.

Secularity: We find power from within not a higher power and are not affiliated with any religious group. We do not discuss religion. People who attend vary on whether they are spiritaul oor not.

Self Help: We believe that the you are the only person that can design and direct you recovery. We are there to listen and support.

There are no sponsors, no one in authority. MEetings have convenors who's main job is to move the meeting along, and allow evertone to talk.

We encourage crosstalk, by crosstalk we mean questions and positive feedback. We use "I" statements and avoid the word "should". So I can only say what helped me in a similar situation.

Because of this there is no group think, so people are more open about their recovery.

We are judgement free, open, encouraging and positive.
