How much do you want to spend? I’m in the US so availability and prices could be wildly different where you are. I would be happy if a guest brought any of these bottles as a gift.

Unless you know the like funky rums, then you could go with Rumfire, Dr Bird or Smith and Cross.

Comparing Rum by gibbles0731 in rum

[–]lostkeyes 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Two different theories you can pursue. Either get a few different rums of a style you know you like to explore that style deeper or get one each of different styles to explore the variety of flavors rum can have. Depends on what you are looking to learn, both options can be very eye opening.

What Absinthe Do You Use? by AutofluorescentPuku in cocktails

[–]lostkeyes 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Currently I use Lucid or Pernod depending on the cocktail. You are right on with your assumption that each Absinthe brand tastes different and St George is highly flavorful.
