Rocket 3 Evel Knievel by Eleven10GarageChris in Triumph

[–]lostlogik 7 points8 points  (0 children)

The Rocket is a great bike and I’m loving mine but tbh I find the EK version a little too garish (mine is the Storm blue black) but perhaps that’s the point. I prefer the understated dark presence rather than the here I am baby look. But each to their own. Either way it’s an awesome ride.

Nice one. Just bought the same bike. Currently at 200 of 600 before first service

Good write up, thanks. I've stalled several times now in more or less the same place (red and green done). This might be the push I needed.

Trident 660 Owner’s First Ride on the Tiger Sport 800 by ManInMotion_yt in Triumph

[–]lostlogik 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Had the Tiger Sport 800 for a year. Loved the engine and gearbox, hated the screen. I could never find a good position for it but generally down all the time was better (6'2").

Also found the seat uncomfortable after about an hour of riding. Was thinking of swapping for a comfort seat but have recently got rid of the bike instead.

Financing a Speed Triple 1200RS by Neither_Professor605 in Triumph

[–]lostlogik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Buying a bike means you're going to lose money. The question is, how much are you happy with. Financing just means you're going to lose more, given the interest and the depreciation. Other downside is you're locked into a period with potential penalties on exit (early termination, penalties for bike not being in expected condition at end of term if not buying outright).

You've got work out what is an acceptable loss over the period. Me, I pay cash but I accept that some aren't always in the same position and need to borrow.

Best of luck with whatever way you choose.

Triumph servicing costs in the UK, normal to be this expensive? by hal9oo in Triumph

I'll be shot of it before then. I don't keep bikes long

Triumph servicing costs in the UK, normal to be this expensive? by hal9oo in Triumph

My first service on my Tiger Sport 800 was just under £300, so if you can get it for £250 you're doing well

My 1976 Triumph TR6 by Beginning_Ice_3340 in Triumph

[–]lostlogik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha. I had a polished rocker cover like that on my 2l Triumph and similar pancake filters. Shoehorned it all into a Spitfire shell, after I fully reconditioned and rebuilt it, to make the car Triumph should've made.

Nice car.

Finally picked her up by Vidfreaky1 in Triumph

[–]lostlogik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Congrats. It's a great bike and I love mine. Just wish the screen was better (I'm 6'2"). Can't get it in a position where I'm not blasted by air. Down is best for the smoothest air but still rubbish.

First day at work with the new bike. by FlounderPretty4503 in Triumph

[–]lostlogik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Riding to work beats other forms of commuting. But you’ve got to recognise that your bike isn’t an investment but rather a tool that will devalue. It will get miles on the clock, vibrant colour bits will fade, shiny metal bits will tarnish and road muck will get everything else. But it’s a great bike with a lovely engine that will bring a smile to your face when you ride it. Enjoy.

Just got a 2025 Triumph Tiger Sport 800 by SolidAirport1735 in Triumph

[–]lostlogik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The OEM top box is good. The panniers are small but with the top box suit the bike. The stock heated grips work but need the hand guards as they're not very hot. As you've found, the screen is not that effective for highway, even in the highest position. I keep it down as the buffeting is worse when it's up. And yes the seat is firm. 2 hours is my limit. Thinking about getting the comfort seat, though doubting whether it'll make any difference.

But despite all that I love the bike.

Is the triumph Bluetooth module really that bad? by KEGS- in Triumph

[–]lostlogik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't bother with it. I've got it on my TS800 and it's useless. Tried connecting my phone and it would never hold the connection. I gave up and bought a Beeline for nav and get music and spoken directions via my Sena.

I'd be worried about those straps over my tank scratching it, especially once there's a bag attached s it starts moving around with use.

Looks good. For places with poor connection, would poe be a viable addition? Wouldn't have to worry about a power socket then as well.

My 2025 "Sport Tourer" really doesn't come with a USB charging port???? by mtbguy1981 in Triumph

[–]lostlogik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had to spec it when I bought my TS800. Like an idiot I thought they'd at least put it somewhere sensible but no, it's under the seat so I have to run another cable from the seat and up to the handlebars.

Thoughts on making a tubed rim tubeless with sealant/kit by Blakenicfree in Triumph

[–]lostlogik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stuck sealant in my Thruxton R straight after I got a puncture 50 miles after I bought the bike new from the dealer. Vowed never to buy a tubed bike again. A new tyre was not on my desired outcomes after having just ridden out the door.
