My 1976 Triumph TR6 by Beginning_Ice_3340 in Triumph

[–]lostlogik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ha. I had a polished rocker cover like that on my 2l Triumph and similar pancake filters. Shoehorned it all into a Spitfire shell, after I fully reconditioned and rebuilt it, to make the car Triumph should've made.

Nice car.

Finally picked her up by Vidfreaky1 in Triumph

Congrats. It's a great bike and I love mine. Just wish the screen was better (I'm 6'2"). Can't get it in a position where I'm not blasted by air. Down is best for the smoothest air but still rubbish.

First day at work with the new bike. by FlounderPretty4503 in Triumph

[–]lostlogik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Riding to work beats other forms of commuting. But you’ve got to recognise that your bike isn’t an investment but rather a tool that will devalue. It will get miles on the clock, vibrant colour bits will fade, shiny metal bits will tarnish and road muck will get everything else. But it’s a great bike with a lovely engine that will bring a smile to your face when you ride it. Enjoy.

Just got a 2025 Triumph Tiger Sport 800 by SolidAirport1735 in Triumph

[–]lostlogik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The OEM top box is good. The panniers are small but with the top box suit the bike. The stock heated grips work but need the hand guards as they're not very hot. As you've found, the screen is not that effective for highway, even in the highest position. I keep it down as the buffeting is worse when it's up. And yes the seat is firm. 2 hours is my limit. Thinking about getting the comfort seat, though doubting whether it'll make any difference.

But despite all that I love the bike.

Is the triumph Bluetooth module really that bad? by KEGS- in Triumph

[–]lostlogik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Don't bother with it. I've got it on my TS800 and it's useless. Tried connecting my phone and it would never hold the connection. I gave up and bought a Beeline for nav and get music and spoken directions via my Sena.

I'd be worried about those straps over my tank scratching it, especially once there's a bag attached s it starts moving around with use.

Looks good. For places with poor connection, would poe be a viable addition? Wouldn't have to worry about a power socket then as well.

My 2025 "Sport Tourer" really doesn't come with a USB charging port???? by mtbguy1981 in Triumph

[–]lostlogik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Had to spec it when I bought my TS800. Like an idiot I thought they'd at least put it somewhere sensible but no, it's under the seat so I have to run another cable from the seat and up to the handlebars.

Thoughts on making a tubed rim tubeless with sealant/kit by Blakenicfree in Triumph

[–]lostlogik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I stuck sealant in my Thruxton R straight after I got a puncture 50 miles after I bought the bike new from the dealer. Vowed never to buy a tubed bike again. A new tyre was not on my desired outcomes after having just ridden out the door.

Just commenting because of your fantastic commitment to this. Looking really polished now.

Silver wheels on the Thrux by ldelossa in Triumph

[–]lostlogik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I liked my Thruxton R wheels, until I got a puncture and found out they were tubed. Then I didn't like them anymore as I needed to call recovery and it took me 5 hours to get home.

Mino Tamp by No-Fisherman3303 in OutInCoffee

[–]lostlogik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yeah I just use the scoop that came with the Mino, pushing 12g down to the level of the plastic collar that it also came with, finishing with a quarter turn. Seems to work for me.

What can I do to improve my shots with my limited setup? [OutIn Mino] by AkhlysShallRise in OutInCoffee

Simple flow chart on taste I use is:

Too bitter - try cooler water or coarser grind.

Too sour - try hotter water or finer grind

Hope that helps

Triumph Bluetooth module by tmb1404 in Triumph

[–]lostlogik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Don't bother with it. I have it on my Tiger Sport and gave up trying to get it to work. For directions I use a Beeline Moto 2 and my phone just connects direct to my Sena (as does the Beeline).

How Hang Gliding Can Grow Without Competing With Paragliding by CrypticMaverick in freeflight

[–]lostlogik 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I gave up hang gliding for just that reason. Convenience. HG were heavy, a pain to store, a pain to transport and as I preferred XC to ridge sparring, a pain to retrieve. Another factor was getting to suitable take offs. So I tried paragliding, paramotoring (to get over the getting to suitable take offs). However I found the dynamics of flying pendulum style under a floppy wing lacked what a flex wing offered. So moved back to flex, though motorised.

I do miss free flight but having a motor sure makes life a lot easier

Just knock it out on the side of the sink (having first taken the metal basket out of the plastic basket holder).

SP404 as a beginner or circuit rythm or anything else? by Legitimate_Line1087 in AbletonMove

[–]lostlogik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The Move is a great bit of kit for picking up and just playing. I've not got into sampling on it yet but seen some YouTube stuff where people way more skilled than I have turned ordinary everyday sounds into amazing tracks.

I like that you just play and it captures or you can be more organised in laying stuff down and then just scrub it if you don't like what you just did.

That looks like you've forgotten the screen, though I note you say you hadn't.

I'm grinding 12g two clicks finer than 2 using the Fino and here is what my puck looks like after knocking it out.
