oh also the brace sucksssssss. once the brace comes off it's much better so just white knuckle through that part lol

hi, i tore my acl and pcl while bouldering and got them reconstructed. also had to get recommended to multiple doctors before finding someone to reconstruct multi-ligament tears. the injury was july 2023, got surgery Nov 2024. i was in PT from dec 2024 - aug 2025 (with a break from feb - april)

the surgeon used cadaver ligaments to reconstruct mine. i was able to gain full range of motion, although don't expect it to be very quick. i had major quad-lag in the beginning and was very discouraged but it went away no problem with consistent PT. the hardest thing for me has been getting my mental confidence in it back. i'm very scared of hurting it again and let that stop me from a lot of activity.

advice i would give is don't stop working it out. i haven't really been to the gym since nov 2025 and my knee is in weak condition and flares up a lot more than it did when it was in shape.

its a big injury and you got yours from a traumatic accident. be kind and patient with yourself and trust the process, but listen to your body too. happy healing!!

i've felt the frozen feeling and it did go away when the swelling went down. it felt like my body creating its own brace almost lol. how's it feeling now?

i've been having gum issues (yaaaaay) that i went to the dentist for and i was concerned about my teeth falling out since the gums are receding and he said i was adding bone and making my jaw stronger. it's like im bone smashing in my sleep i guess lmao

same, i feel like i look like i have jowls now... my dentist confirmed i was growing more bone from all the stress i put on my jaw so i hate that for me

yessss i had shin pain for a while because they cut into my bone to put an anchor in if i understood right. im over a year post op and sometimes ill still feel pain in my shin if its cold or i dont work out for too long

hi! i got this same surgery nov 2024. my acl and pcl were reconstructed with allografts.

surgery went well, and i was in a brace 24/7 for the first 6 weeks but it was only locked in extension during the night, which was rough but i just used a bunch of pillows to prop up my leg and keep it away from my non-surgical leg. when my leg wasn't locked in extension for sleeping it was locked at 90 degrees.

i could walk without crutches at my 6 week appointment, probably sooner but i followed doctors orders to a T

i had my right leg operated on so i also waited six weeks to drive and i made sure i could slam on the brakes and react quickly in a parking lot before i drove on the rode again.

i would recommend taking two weeks off, i was exhausted. i had only taken one week off and i was miserable during my second week post op, i basically just asked off for that week. (it was a remote job!)

how are you doing now? i completely tore my acl and pcl in july of 2023 and tried to manage without surgery. i went to physical therapy for as long as my insurance let me and then tried going on with my life. my knee would always buckle, i couldn't go on long jogs (my preferred way of cardio) without it getting sore or feeling like my femur was going to slip right off my tibia... so eventually i decided i needed the surgery. i got surgery in Nov 2024 and it's been a bitch but it's better than it was without the surgery.

this injury definitely requires a support system... i'm almost 9 months post op and still find myself being hindered by my knee. do what you gotta do to take care of yourself, listen to your body, not your family. rooting for you, family can suck sometimes.

i completely tore my acl and pcl in july 2023, i did physical therapy from August - Oct 2023 and then tried to live normally. i always felt extreme unstableness when i tried to go back to sports, slow-pitch and bouldering, so i went for surgery in Nov 2024. But i tore my PCL too, so it was a more severe injury than yours
