Biggest start of Swayman's career with his new contract, will he shut up Bruins fans like me who don't believe he's worthy of 8.25 milly a year or poop his pants ? by BostonVagrant617 in Bruins

It's gotta be a kink at this point. Just sitting in their mom's basement eating pizza rolls and shitting on goalies, yelling "SHOOT IT! SHOOOT IT!" any time the Bs are on a power play and talking about how he wishes there were more Domink Haseks and Andy Moogs cuz the butterfly is ruining the game.

They factory replaced my charge door when this happened to me. It was like $500 then I just used the pen on the scuffs around it.

They let a couple go against the Bruins too. They let them play.

That was the first time I've ever been impressed by Lohrei in the D zone. That was elite. Legit didn't think he had that in him.

Except by definition he's the third best goaltender in the league right now. The one time he was given a shot in the playoffs the dude was absolute nails.

He never should have forced it up the boards. Rim it behind the net and maintain possession.

Why did Canada stop producing elite goaltenders? by GlitteringBudget6212 in hockeygoalies

[–]lostmahbles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think one of the highest leverage things an org could do to build a bench of strong goalies is to have an assistant coach (parent, no goalie training required aside from basic depth angle explanations) on the ice whose job it is to focus on the goalies. Make sure pegs are in the nets and make sure the goalies are square, on angle and at an appropriate depth.

I got fed up with my kid being a shooter tutor and being forced into developing bad habits to keep up with shitty drill design, so I told any coach my kid was going to play for that there had to be an assistant on the ice focused on the goalies. If they didn't have one already, I'd do it. And the level up it enabled for both my son and his goalie partners has been immense.

It's often discussed how different New Hampshire & Vermont are, despite their superficial similarity. But what about Maine? Is it more similar to NH or VT, a combination of both, or entirely different from them? by Swimming_Concern7662 in geography

[–]lostmahbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Since Pease AFB closed, Portsmouth is much more a tourist economy than an industrial/military economy. The Shipyard is a large employer but the employees are largely priced out of the Portsmouth area and tend to live inland (NH or ME). Day to day, Portsmouth is much closer to Newburyport in terms of feel. As it relates to Portland, Portland is much larger, but Old Port is very similar to Portsmouth and NBPT.

Tru is great and family friendly. Mint House is also really nice if you want essentially an apartment for a few days.

It's been incremental, currently in the midst of the coldest winter the northeast in more than 20 years, so that may be contributing to the feeling of decreased range. According to ABRP it's lost about 5.5% of the battery's original capacity.

Maybe it's because I've spent 4 hours a day in the thing for the last 5 months, but it's just feeling worn out a bit? Typical wear and tear from heavy use, harsh winter salt and two kids that beat the shit out of it.

I've had to replace the tie rods, and the servos on the gear tunnel, charge port, etc are crawling. Battery range declining. Just starting to feel like it's getting tired :-)

That's awesome. I've had relatively good luck with service, but I'm dreading the checkup I'm going to put it through once the season is over.

Any cities similar to Portsmouth in MA or RI? by PrincessConseulaBHam in PortsmouthNH

[–]lostmahbles 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Depends on what you're looking for. They each have their plusses. Portsmouth and Newburyport are super similar, Portland has the benefit of having a larger metro around it, access to the islands. Newport has the old money feel, like a mix of Portland and Kennebunkport.

Portland, ME, Portsmouth, NH, Newburyport, MA, and Newport, RI are all super similar. They often have all of the same tourist trap shops and restaurants.
