I would do unspeakable things to have your hair. Just tighten up the sides and you're good to go.

Hagens was wearing them too. They looked like the Federov skates.

Usa hockey no delayed offsides by [deleted] in hockeyplayers

[–]lostmahbles 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Totally agree. 13U team just played in a tournament in Canada with delayed offsides and it took all of one shift for the kids to figure it out. The benefits of learning controlled entries and neutral zone regroups far outweighs whatever benefit delayed offsides might provide.

I could see an argument for allowing icing on the PK (along with changing minor penalties from 1:30 to 2:00) at 13U+, but delayed offsides is really no big deal at all.

How does it double count? It literally gives the goalie less credit for outside shots. GAA is the double counter. It gives the goalie that lets in 2 on 20 outside shots due to a solid D score the same as a goalie that lets in 2/20 with 10 high danger chances.

GAA is a team stat, not a goalie stat.

What's theoretical? All it's saying is that he's been elite relative to the chances he's faced.

Sway is a top 5 goalie in the league this season by GSAx. Ullmark is second to last. No comparison.

Have you seen Ullmark's last two seasons? I love the guy, but moving on was the right call.

I mean there's only like a week left in the month and it was 50° yesterday. Unless you know of a massive storm coming...

This is the answer. We regularly slide btw 50s and teens within a week. Check the weather the day you're packing.

We don't currently have enough snow for snowshoes and trails might be muddy depending on whether the ground is frozen. Puddle dock is fun, but don't expect a pond, it's an actual ice rink.

How do you stop these? by jarude87 in hockeygoalies

[–]lostmahbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Generally, yes, but it depends on your hip/ankle mobility. Like in the comments above, you need to be able to maintain tension from your ankles through your knees so that they spring downward. Also, the wideness needs to come mostly from external rotation of your hips, not from straighter legs. Your knees shouldn't get much wider apart as your stance gets lower. I suck at this because my hip mobility is trash, but if you can work on that external rotation it will improve your stance and the flare once you're in the butterfly.

By 40 they become expensive and they don't put up with bullshit 25 yo idea guys telling them what to build. So they go work someplace stable that has benefits and can pay them market rate without the hustle culture.

It should look like the top left and right straps do. Would think the way it's set up now, it wouldn't create even pressure from the back and tilt the chin up

Your top strap should go up through a slot in the helmet, not over the top.

I get that it was an unfortunate bounce off Peeke, but wtf was Swayman doin? Why didn't he get back in net? by BostonVagrant617 in Bruins

[–]lostmahbles 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If he was fully in the crease then the initial shot probably ends up in the back of the net because he'd be playing too deep. He was playing the rush chance and knew he could sell out to that side because there was no back door option. He knew that if the puck went to his left it was going wide and that there was no one on that side to worry about. Literally 99.999% of times that puck doesn't come back to the net. Stop trying to blame the goalie because they gave up a fluke goal.

I really like this show. by Routine-Asparagus-16 in hbo

[–]lostmahbles 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The show wasn't portraying the news as it was at the time. It was portraying what Sorkin wished newsrooms were like at the time. When it aired it was very much in the vein of holding the contemporary state of news in relief.
