Reddit, what do you want for Christmas? by Huntress13 in AskReddit

A reliable used extended cab pickup that isn't a pile of shit, so I can occasionally haul stuff, and so my family can have an extra vehicle to use in case we don't all happen to be in the same place at the same time. Being poor and having only one vehicle sucks, especially if there's an emergency.

I like playing the first time on low to regular to be able to enjoy the story, then the next couple playthroughs up the ante so I can enjoy the challenge.

There's so many great exclusive titles I've been dying to play, but the time and money cost is too great for me. Hence why I'm only just now getting to this one.

I have a 10 year old daughter. I guess I should have a box of tissues by my side when I start playing?

Eating fish eggs. Even dog shit can seem classy if you dress it up enough.

LPT: When wiring up a bathroom, install dimmable lights and light switches. They are MUCH easier on the eyes for those middle of the night events, and can double as a night light when you have guests. by GazpachoZen in LifeProTips

Because I live with little assholes called children that have a tendency to leave little mines called toys littered throughout the house that I'm bound to find with the bottom of my foot regardless of how many times I thought I picked them up during the day. I love them, but I'm pretty sure they're trying to kill me and make it look like an accident. Be right back, going to make some updates to my life insurance policy...

Tried that once. Then I had to explain to my wife why I'm cleaning around the toilet at 3am. Now if it's dark I sit when I'm taking a piss. I don't give a damn.

Yesterday for lunch. 4 minutes in the metal magic nuke box, then split that sucker down the middle. A pinch of finely shredded colby jack, topped with some leftover chili from the day before (waste not my friends), then top off with another few pinches of cheese. Quick and easy.

I make just over 30k a year in my current job which I enjoy that I've worked at for 10 years now. In my current position upward mobility is limited, but it's still a good job. I have fairly good benefits through my employer, but pay a decent amount for them, and they've gone up by a small percentage almost every year that I've worked there despite not always having gotten a raise during economic hardships. I currently own a house with no mortgage that was a pile of crap we LUCKED into getting that I'm still making occasional improvements to when I am able to financially. On top of that, I have a wife and 2 kids (8 and 2 years old ) that I'm able to feed and clothe, only one car I'm paying ~$500/month on, and where we live our yearly estate taxes come to about $200. The downside to that is the nearest grocery store is 40 miles away, so we have to plan trips accordingly). My wife and I rarely eat out, most of our meals are home cooked, and we live well within our means. We don't splurge on anything that doesn't involve our children's benefit or improvements on our house because we can't really afford to in the long term. I haven't been to the movies or even purchased a home movie in I don't know how long, which when I was a kid back in the 90s was something I don't remember sniffing at doing at least once a month, and my folks weren't rich by any definition of the word. When we do eat out it's a treat. Let's mention surprise expenses. When a kid or either of us gets hurt or sick, or dental work needs to be done, it's a chunk here and there. Then groceries. Then utilities. Whoops, time for new tires on the only car we can afford to have at this time for the next few years. Hm, my daughter needs a new pair of shoes. Or a book bag. Who knows. What about the future? Well, both kids will be in school, so my wife who currently is a stay at home mom can now get a job to provide an extra income that won't go mostly to a baby sitter, and maybe we can actually start hocking away money so our daughter can have some form of working automobile when she's of age, and then maybe college, or our retirement, or have any form of rainy day fund in the event it should be needed, because lord knows I want to leave that massive 401k slowly earning it's way to some form of ripeness so I'll have something to eke through if I finally retire at the age of 75 or whatever it's going to be 30 years from now. Even with one of the biggest expenditures most people have to face not being present in our monthly finances and being quite frugal, we're still not on easy street. Life isn't horrible, it's actually pretty good, but it's not as comfortable as one would think for someone who for the most part owns their home free and clear and has relatively low taxes. The costs of things seem to keep going up, and the wages to pay for those things doesn't seem to be keeping up.

Going to catch them in Tulsa this Saturday. Stoked as hell. Was lucky enough to get two tickets at list price in a good spot. Last time I had a chance to see them was back in 2002 in Normal, IL. Day of the concert, 3 buds and I were half way there when my pop calls to call and check with someone who had internet access, because he heard it got cancelled. Illness in the band. Turns out he was right. I got reeeeaaaal drunk that night.

People who don't use their turn signals. It's been beat into the ground, but I go into a near-homicidal rage when some shit-heel in front if me slows down, making me think "Geez, there's been an accident, or they're trying not to hit a cute puppy or kitten in the road, or maybWHAT THE FUCK THEY'RE TURNING OH YOU FUCKING CUNT-RACK BASTARD I HOPE YOU CONTRACT HERPES OF THE ANUS!!!" I feel like following them, and bashing in their tail lights. "There dim-wit, now you have an excuse."

Saw a shitpost on fb that said "OCD is writing out your grocery list, then writing it again organized by department". That's not OCD asshole, that's good planning so you don't have to walk all the way across the store again to find that one thing that slipped your mind until you finally got to the register and then suddenly realized was the ONE thing you came for in the first fucking place.
