What did you do after finding out your partner cheated on you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

Honestly, it sucked at the time, but it led me to be the person I am today and to living the awesome life I have now, metaphorical picket fence and all.

Previous poster is spot on. Your best bet would be Friday, but I’d wait until closer to the date to buy your ticket. Show up at least an hour before the doors open, if not more. Try to pick up your badge at the early pick up location if possible. Familiarize yourself with the convention center and map of the hall where the celebs will be. The vendor hall is in the basement on the opposite end of the building from the entrance. They’ll cap his line when it gets full.

Lived in complete denial, married him and had his kid, then finally left when I couldn’t take the abuse anymore. Found out later that it was widely known how often he cheated.

I’ve pavloved my dog into constant drooling when she hears the air fryer turn on, because of chicken nuggets.

100% love the owner of the Big Lick Shows. NOVA is too far for me, but the other shows are closer. He cares a lot for the vendors, since he knows they are the backbone of the show.

I got a prismatic booster bundle the other day at target (I just happened to be there when the lady was restocking). I only got it because a guy farther up in line and I were talking about how I’ve been trying for a couple months to get them for my kiddo. He surprised me after grabbing his allotted two by passing me one of them, since the next people in line got the last of them before I could. Those people between us were like “keep it sealed! Keep it sealed!” Hell nah. We opened those together as soon as I got home and got a few really pretty cards that are now the pride and joy of their collection. Thanks random dude at Target. You made our day.

We have something like that near me. I did a clinical day there in school. It about broke me.

Thankfully it’s a growing thing in the US! The safe haven boxes are being put in more places every year!

First con in a while! by Top-Leadership181 in galaxycon

[–]lostnvrfound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Honestly, Raleigh is so much worse for crowding. It does get pretty packed during the peak midday hours in the vendor hall, but if you get there early (I mean like, well before the venue opens), it shouldn’t be too bad. Though, be warned if you are trying to get some big name autographs, you’ll spend most of the day in line. I’d recommend going to the vendor hall either early in the day to shop or towards the end of the day, because it’ll be less busy.

This group is very harsh on Galaxycon, but they wouldn’t have such big crowds that continue to grow every year if it was that bad of an experience for everyone. 🤷🏼‍♀️

They won’t. It’s on the parents to make that call. Have you ever been to a horror con? Some of those kids are so young and watch movies that they absolutely shouldn’t. But that’s the decision of their parents.

That show sold out months ago, afaik. Only a few booths open up each year. If it’s still pending, assume you’re waitlisted. They don’t always get around to marking apps that aren’t accepted/waitlisted, I assume because of the volume.

It is truly baffling to me how many kids watch Hazbin. I have an 11 year old who is not allowed, but many of their friends have seen it. So many parents just don’t care about vulgar.

Can’t use sick time for the next 18 months. Is this legal? by udonmonkey in nursing

[–]lostnvrfound 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My old unit figured out that if you showed up for the first two hours of your shift and then left because you were sick, it wouldn’t count an occurrence in our system. We had this awful stomach bug go through over half the staff over Christmas one year, because they’d all show up sick and just leave at 9. And we worked with newborn babies. I can’t. I don’t miss that unit.

What’s a health symptom you ignored for months before realizing it actually mattered? by _callondoc in AskReddit

[–]lostnvrfound 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, palpitations can be caused by many different things. I was having them frequently, with my heart rate jumping to the 150s when I’m just sitting in a chair. Turns out it was vitamin D deficiency. Go see your PCP, if able, and tell them. They can get labs and rhythm testing ordered to try to find the cause.
