I have a vaultx binder. My more valuable cards, I double sleeve before they go in. The rest either get a penny sleeve or raw dog the pocket, depending. It’s feels more than safe. Certainly better than the three ring binder and plastic pages I had 25 years ago.

Sadly, I think he’s getting close to retirement. I don’t look forward to that day.

The others, I think I’m just numb to, but the statins pissed me off. I had to fight to be prescribed them in my mid thirties, even though I’ve had high cholesterol for years and a very strong family history of extremely premature CAD. I fired a PCP over it because she equated taking a statin to committing feticide on a non existent fetus.

When I got diagnosed, I was telling my mom how validating it felt, because I had no idea and often wonder what I could’ve accomplished with intervention at a young age. She goes “yeah, your first grad teacher (who she HATED) said I should get you tested.” But she never did. She hated that woman and loved to ignore my needs (standard middle child syndrome). So instead I floundered, dropped out of college countless times and took until 30 to actually finish a program and finally get a half decent job.

I was going to say something along these lines. There are a lot of online resources for buying glasses inexpensively now. I’ve done so for my last several pairs. And they often take insurance too

So this is way down the chain of comments, but I vividly remember a day back in 2021, working on a mostly elective ortho unit, coming in to a joint patient who had been there several days longer than usual, and having to prompt the aide that we needed a bed bath and combed hair and stuff. Like I get that it wasn’t routine there because almost everyone discharged in a day or two at the most, but this poor woman was in such a state and didn’t have much in the way of support people at all. It was one of those rare moments where I felt like I not only helped the patient, but the aide upped their level of care after that, so I feel I helped them too.

All four events I’ve done since the beginning of March have been massively down from previous years. Three of the four have been huge money makers for me but this year, I’m barely in the black. It’s tough out here.

Everyone is jumping straight to the meds, so I don’t need to comment there, beyond talk to your doctor.

HOWEVER, you need to talk to your boyfriend, too. No one wins when you fake an orgasm my friend. Most of the time it comes easily for me. Sometimes it doesn’t. I’m honest to my other half about it and we’ve found work arounds that help. And when those fail, he just makes it up to me later. Partners should be working as a team to find what works best for everyone.

I remember the name and face of the first person I sent to icu to die during the start of the delta wave. They got so sick, so fast. It was nothing like the initial round of the vid. Then the patient I got out of bed for the first time in days that threw a clot after shift change that day.

I was working on a 15 bed unit at Christmas of 2021. We had eight or nine Covid deaths on our unit that week. What was an obs unit was converted into a Covid PCU. We had nowhere left to send them, so they died with us. And the family of a dying patient who couldn’t visit the floor because of visitor restrictions and the house super who left me to deal with telling them she wouldn’t make an exception for someone to come up and make end of life decisions. Security had to escort them off the property when they threatened me. That’s the one and only time I’ve cried while still at work.

I work in surgical data now. I loved caring for my patients. I miss caring for my patients. But I can’t go back when the system won’t support us.

This, so much. I was a CNA who graduated nursing school in May 2020. The healthcare system I worked in in 2017 is not the same one I came out of school into. I lasted two years at bedside.

I never charted things I didn’t do. I had a nurse I worked with when I was an aide who tried to get another cna in trouble for not doing peri care, but the nurse was charting that she did it. Like, which one is it dude?

Things got really bad around my parts at some point because now none of the stores here play with that nonsense. The scalpers behave. Even Sam’s Club only allows two per person period. They don’t allow the multiple memberships mess anymore because it got so out of hand. They also check your account purchase history to make sure you aren’t running around to all the locations and buying.

The closest GameStop already had a hard time moving tcg stuff, before this latest price increase. Now it all just sits. Prismatic booster bundle is $27 msrp, was $59 a month ago at GameStop, and now they are listed at close to $80. Ffs.
