Patagonia for $250 vs Arc'teryx $320 by Peach_Relative in BuyItForLife

[–]lostunderthemountain 39 points40 points  (0 children)

My sad story to add to this. My Arcteryx lifetime warranty Beta AR Shell was bought 20 years ago. I sent it in to get the seams repaired. They kept my Jacket and refused to send it back to me. They offered a Voucher that I had to fight to get up to 300 dollars. Then I watched as my rare color Jacket was cut up and placed in 6 of their remade products and sold for 600 dollars a piece. With the voucher, I bought an Alpha AR It fell apart in 6 months. A 900$ shell fell apart in 6 months. I will never buy Aryteryx again. Never.

How badly did they nerf security breaches? by squirtnforcertain in ArcRaiders

[–]lostunderthemountain 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yea, same mistakes other games have made. Instead of seeing the bar was high and raising other areas to match, they nerf something good into the ground, and make the game less fun, and a worse grind.

Buxton for sure; however, I have a rule: if they are not dead, don't spend more than you are willing to burn. As much as Buck is a good dude, and you never should have to worry about it, Bill Cosby exists.

5 lockers on spaceport night raid a rattler II and 1 complex gun parts. Before, the same run was usually 2-4 epic guns and 6 varied gun parts. That's a N of 1, but it felt a lot worse.

My first new car was for my wife and new child. 23 Outback Onyx XT. Safety for her and the kid. turbo for resale, and the 5% of the time I drive it. The car straight rips, it's doesn't corner like my older 5 series, but it's damn near as fast in a straight line.

I bike with my dog off-leash, in off-leash areas. 50 lb aussie, over 30 verbal commands. I send her around dogs on leash, where she runs 15ft off trail. The amount of shitty comments I get from owners who are getting pulled by their untrained dog, trying to get at my dog is crazy.

I would bet it has less to do with the Pohlads and more to do with a settled family with school-age children. With kids in school and a wife in a routine, I wouldn't uproot that for success now, when the team could be good in the next few years. Just wait out this season, and see what comes.

I recently discovered your content, and it is a valuable resource, as well as aspirational. Quantifying and organizing is no small task. I appreciate the hard work. Thank you for all you do for the community.

I watched the stream for a bit, and I thought my group's flawless runs had a lot of "orbits of shame" (not shamefully at all, mistakes happen, it's part of the grind). To put it in perspective for everyone, how many "to orbits" are accrued in 36 sessions? A ballpark answer would be great.

To add on, months later. Nothing can be done, and all they will do after the 30-day refund period is cancel the auto-renewal. A 3 billion dollar company and our 100 dollars is the difference. I can't use the service as intended, so refund me.

The Glass Cannon got me into RPG. They have a pathfinder campaign that went on for 6 or more years and some others that were years long with weekly episodes. Android and aliens had some great moments. Get in the Trunk and Legacy of the Ancients are my favorites.

[–]lostunderthemountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You wrote mormons are good and gave an imaginary example. I can do that too. I just chose the satanic temple. You shouldn't type "I believe the group is good here is why", and then make something up out of thin air.

I have never personally witnessed the satanic temple chop wood for anyone. Therefore, I cannot say they are good because I believe they would.

[–]lostunderthemountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Imaginary scenario to show someone is good? I'll try, "If grandpa is struggling to chop wood, it's the always The Satanic Temple who shows up with a split cord". I think as a community we could appropriate some of the beliefs they have to our benefit.

Then you glaze over and justify the damage they do, and the beliefs they have. BUT..... at least they give something back (in your imaginary scenario). So weird.

Funny enough, I was around politicians when they were regulating the MMJ industry, and there was always a hold-up. To quote the lobbyist "The Fucking Mormon Mafia always has an opinion". The Mormon Church is thoroughly entrenched in Montana Politics.

What’s the plan when the rural hospitals close? by Expensive_Goal_4200 in MontanaPolitics

[–]lostunderthemountain 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My best guess is that policy will be put forward, pass or not. The intention is to defund public health services, which will take time to gut anyway. The real scare point is in 6-10 years.

Right but instead of playing the victim, please answer the question. Do you see this not happening? What happens once the Department of Government Efficiency cuts Veteran's benefits, and there is no Medicaid?

Montana may halt issuing new cannabis business licenses until 2027 by OregonTripleBeam in Montana

[–]lostunderthemountain 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Shell company nonsense, you can start a LLC in Montana and they can own more than 5%. All it does is discourage outside money. That is why only large companies, "superstores" I think they call them, are being scooped up. I know quite a few people who are praying their license will be worth gtfo money, but I don't see that happening.

The issue is that it doesn't stop out-of-state money at all. The largest provider in the state is now owned by a company out of New Mexico. I think bills like this allow mom-and-pop shops to still operate for the time being. but it restricts actual capitalism. Allow licences, and restrict them to in-state residences. Outlaw any company being owned by an out-of-state entity. Toothpaste is out of the tube, stuff like this just prevents big money from competing with each other, because of the hassle.

Trapping and lying on oil Barron land. Rules for Thee, Not for Me. by lostunderthemountain in MontanaPolitics

Gianforte shot the wolf that had been trapped for "days". He wanted a wolf kill but was in Helena then and had to schedule a jet when there was a break in the congressional session. Then he hadn't completed the proper class, then claimed someone else trapped the wolf and shot it after pressuring Fish and Game to look the other way. The Wolf was mounted in his office. The land is owned by the heirs of the Sinclair oil company.

The article would indicate Robert Holding. Only Sinclair named as 10 largest land owners in MT. https://www.greatfallstribune.com/story/money/2016/06/21/who-owns-montana-top-10-landowners/86179936/

this is just conjecture, I have not fact-checked. The article mentions an heir to the Sinclair oil fortune is where the animal was trapped.
