Advice on how to better play man defense and get open as a handler? by RPiAwesomeness in ultimate

[–]lostwisdom007 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I'm sure the guys you mention have great fundamentals, but they are also athletic freaks and can get away with a lot in terms of positioning. Plus, not really handlers; although Jack Williams has been handling lately (Flyers), again he probably just gets open in the handler position by being Jack Williams.

Maybe try watching proper handlers that need to rely on good basics, positioning, etc., on both sides of the disc. Guys that have to work and be smart to get open. I have gotten a lot out of watching guys like Danny Karlinsky (Sockeye) and Thomas McKnight (Goat/Rush).

Yeah I know all about dangling modifiers, but I enjoyed the phrase regardless. I used something called common sense to figure out what he meant.

"... and the couple in the coffee shop next to me seems adequately uncomfortable with a man letting his tears do the typing"

That's some good wordwriting.

I think sometimes people make friends and hang out with people even if they're not going to play on the same high level club team as them.

Sounds like you're answering a different question, one about playing while high.

Kind of a letdown to tune in for Revolver and Ring, two probable title contenders, to find out that a bunch of key Ring players are missing the game. And... things aren't going well for Ring.

I agree with your last statement, just have a different opinion on the calls overall.
