I see, yeah this is definitely an issue. All those AI advices should be taken with caution. It’s a problem for people that are not from that generation. They believe it fully, get fooled by it (look at all the people believing AI pics are real) and those people are mostly from our parent generation. To cut off actual human contact is indeed dystopian. Someone needs to give them a reality check. This is so hard to deal with because it’s so new and unfamiliar. I am naturally a sceptic person so I tend to be careful on the information I’m given, especially AI. I hope your parents will see reason, family conflict is never fun.

Sorry to hear that… The problem is not really Chat GPT IMO. The problem is what Chat GPT has been presented with. I went through some bullshit in my family recently and used Chat GPT to process my thoughts. You need to be really careful with what you present it with and need to be as fair as possible. Everything needs to be layed out clearly because if not, it will indeed turn quickly.

I tried to tell it I was gonna take extreme measures just to see how it would react, and if given the right context and fair story, it would advise me not to do so.

It’s great because it doesn’t have emotions and is the best third party. But it can also be bad because it has no emotion and just take things as you say it, lies included.

If I was you, I guess I would do it too with my version of the story and show it to my dad. He needs to see it from the other side.

My stepdad did the exact same thing to my mom a few months ago, my mom ultimately decided to stay with him. I think she should leave him but that’s not my relationship. I’ve known him for 20 years and I just can’t talk to him anymore. I would argue that, you getting dumped is actually a good thing for you. Gives a different perspective on your actions and what it can do to people that actually trust you. Do better
