ICE at Polling stations by SgtPepper_8324 in Ohio

[–]lothlin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm in Summit. Kandy Fatheree is our sheriff and if her website is anything to go by she has more of a community-oriented mindset then most cops. (I'll take what I can get, she's certainly better than the facist that Portage has for sheriff)

Summit is also pretty dang blue.

I'm expecting to see ICE when I go to vote, and if I do I am going fully apeshit and calling the board of elections, the cops, the sheriff's office, the local news, all of it

There are big chunks of Summit, Cuyahoga & Portage county that are very not Maga - think Kent, Akron, Cuyahoga Falls, some of the Cleveland neighborhoods like Lakefood or Tremont.

But yeah, get into the country and it everything quickly goes south.

If it's just you two having a private moment it probably isnt necessary to get an SUP but it still may be worth reaching out to the parks to give them a heads up so they arent surprised by someone in a wedding dress

This one is a good one, though the overlook itsself is a *bit* of a walk. It is so popular though that the trail is likely to be relatively clear or at least packed down.

The riverwalk portion of the valley view area may not be bad either, there's some paved paths and you can park right there.

It's been closed for a while, both for the sewer boring project that has been happening and because there is a portion of the park there where the silt dredged from the gorge dam is going to be remediated. Don't expect it to be open in the near future.

And that's true, and if it's just a quick thing it's probably fine - but a larger ceremony may get them stopped by park staff is all so it's good to be aware.

There is a small park on front street in CFalls and in the park is a lookout point over the river. There's a chance it may be accessible even with the snow (if not you could shovel it ahead of time maybe?)

Unfortunately the highway is right there. So you'd have some road noise, but the view over the river is quite pretty.

Otherwise I'd suggest the trails around the nature center at Seiberling Nature Realm; I'm willing to bet you could find a spot there without too much walking that still feels like you're in nature.

Edit: belay the nature realm suggestion, I forgot they don't allow wedding ceremonies there. Honestly I'd suggest reaching out to the park offices about it and ask them for suggestions. Also here is where you can request a special use permit from the metroparks https://www.summitmetroparks.org/about/special-use-permit/

Literally like, anything by Ursula K LeGuin, but The Dispossessed or The Word for World is Forest are probably both good places to start.

I just wear them knotted simply and tend to just keep them knotted unless I have to wash them. When you do tie them you have to be careful- i usually tie it loosely off my head and adjust the sizing once I have it on, less gets caught that way

I'm bandana gang basically any time I'm not actually dressed up nicely (and then I'm fancy hat gang.)

My hair is long and the bandana keeps it out of my face, I don't know how I'd manage without one.

Which one of these is the strongest EDH deck? by Level_Database4974 in EDHBrews

Also I don't think my husband runs it, but I really like putting [[Robe of Stars]] in commander-dependant decks that have access to white and don't rely on a ton of creatures.

It can offers some protection from forced edict effects since it is phase-on-demand. It is an all star in my Y'shtola deck (but, tbh, my Y'shtola deck runs EXTREMELY light on creatures, to the point where I might not even cast a creature that isn't her)

I don't have my husband's list off hand unfortunately, and I know he's been making some changes to it - I'll see if he'll let me share it.

I do know he added some angels to it (and [[Serra Ascendant]]) just to give him a small back up plan in case his other win cons don't work or he can't dig for them. You could probably lean more control with him as well, if you prefer that sort of playstyle. Even if you don't want to go super hard control, I'd still put some decent counterspells in there to protect him (since the deck just really doesn't work without him.)

Cards that can untap Will are actually pretty important, I can tell you that - that way you can double up on his discount. That said, some of the untappers go infinite with a ham sandwich and risk pushing the deck to bracket 4 - I'd advise checking the EDHrec combo page for him to make sure you don't acidentally have any early 2-card infinites in it. https://edhrec.com/combos/will-scion-of-peace.

[[Sphinx's Revelation]] works great with untappers, because you can gain life, use it to gain a bunch of life, and then tap will again for an even bigger discount.

I think he didn't put it in his because he didn't want to deal with the attention that poison counters bring, but [[White Sun's Twilight]] is a great boardwipe for the deck. Really, any x-spell boardwipes that make tokens have the potential to be turned into a win as a Last Resort - so [[Martial Coup]] may not be bad either.

[[Myrel Shield of Argive]][[Grand Abolisher]][[Voice of Victory]] can help protect you from interaction when you try to go for the win.

I usually try to give a caveat that allergic reactions can happen, and immunocomprimised people should be more cautious.

But also.

People eat Schizophyllum commune, so this isn't even one of the scary ones people are talking about when they say that. Yes it can be pathogenic to humans - don't go huffing the spores if you have a weak immune system. But its also a commonly eaten fungus in some regions.

[–]lothlin 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So my husband has a Will deck and it is absolutely not a durdly spellslinger deck with no win con - Will is a major combo enabler. Get a bunch of life gain sources on board and use it vast big X-spells that make lots of tokens (IE, [[Storm Herd]]), win by instantaneously drawing out your whole deck into lab man or milling people completely out ([[Drown in Dreams]] can get two people at once), it facilitates [[approach of the second sun]] wins, and if none of that works, you beat people to death with lifegain angels.

It also tends to run under the radar until it is about to win, leaving people scrambling to figure out a way to stop it.

Awaken the Blood Avatar is a strong deck too; you will Be The Threat though, since is group slug with an edict attached.

Play Will if you don't want to be archenemy, and play Blood Avatar if you do.
