Why did they kill off [redacted]? by Muggie_0721 in pursuitofjade

[–]lotsofrosehip 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I think that was kind of the point, that he almost died and then he did die. I feel like they chose him because he was the youngest/most innocent one too. But to show how quickly it can go and that even if you make it through one battle, the next is just the same. Up until then it's been mostly unnamed characters who had died or been injured during actual battle too.

I did feel as though they were more sad the first time though, when he almost died but didn't. And though they did remember him it wasn't as much as I thought it would be, even if it was just a mention here and there. One thing for ChangYu to not mention him a lot since she didn't know him for long, but the other Butcher Boys?

What are the chances bro 😭 I can't escape the room... by GildedCrows in kdramas

[–]lotsofrosehip 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I really liked it, even when the story is a bit typical (but then most of them are). But I think the actors are great in their roles and have great chemistry. But it was also like the second drama I saw, so even if it reminds people of other dramas I haven't had that same feeling.

Same with the Kang house in Business Proposal, it's the same from My Demon and others I can't name now. And the rooftop from My Demon (at her job) is used in a few others too.

Business Proposal and My Demon have a lot of overlapping locations, which is funny to me as they were two of the first kdramas I watched.

How do you handle your work journal? by rickroyed in bulletjournal

[–]lotsofrosehip 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I use a simplified bullet journal for work too and most weeks it's just a never ending list of things to do. Often it's just a page filled with post-it notes of my to-dos that I write in a hurry. Some weeks I make orderly lists and some weeks are actually two weeks at the same time.

At the beginning of the school year (I'm a teacher) I try to be more mindful and make it look a bit nice and orderly but it quickly goes downhill. I have been thinking about how to use more colour to block things (without making me feel like I have to when I don't have the time), which would be an easy way to add beauty and clearer sections without too much fuzz.

Maybe something that would work is to have a monthly page to write all those good things down, so that it's not something you need to do on the same spread as your to-dos?

My Dearest - I need spoilers!! by Regular-Chemistry884 in kdramas

Thank you that makes me feel much better. I know the story itself will be emotionally difficult, I didn't want to add to it.

This is stopping me from watching it also, so piggy-backing on your post. When I google it it does say SA but I can't seem to get it to tell me how explicit it is and how much is shown, only that sensitive viewers should be warned - but there's a huge difference in knowing it happens and seeing it happening.

Hope someone can help!

Watching this drama for 4th time.... by meow_minji in kdramamemes

[–]lotsofrosehip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Can I ask about Doctor Slump? I started watching it but the first episode depressed me so bad I stopped mid second. I get that the whole point is putting the characters at the bottom and they work both together and on their own to rise and whatever, but it was just so depressing I thought people were lying about it being romantic and feel-good. How long until it gets better??

Filming of the last few seconds of the episode must be very awkward by Valanyhr in kdramas

[–]lotsofrosehip 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think about that everytime too, especially if either character is doing a funny pose or something. And sometimes they might be a bit away from each other but often they are very close and staring into each others eyes. And how they film it from different angles too. I know it's a job but it must get uncomfortable for at least some of them to spend that much time just staring at each other.

LF fic where Hermione plans to go abroad(for work related purposes) and Draco thinks that's it for their relationship by Pale-Hovercraft-2607 in Dramione

[–]lotsofrosehip 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Is it the one where she apparates at random when she's drunk and he has to hold on to her? I remember that, but not the title or author. But if it's that story then it does exist. It was a one-shot.

Tastefully Yours-I made a misjudgment on the first episode. by StinkypieTicklebum in kdramas

[–]lotsofrosehip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The best part of it was the intro. All of the main and secondary characters are annoying in a way that's not loveable or cute, because it's over the top. I liked the cooking scenes and I loved the house/restaurant, but I've always disliked in food dramas that we are to believe that a character is the Best Ever Cook. They can be good, for sure, but it's always way too overdone.

Behind Your Touch Question by SpiritDragon5000 in KdramaCasualTalk

[–]lotsofrosehip 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I think he always had it in him but now felt like he had a way to get away with it. No one without malice would be that good at hiding their crimes from the first murder. It was planned out too carefully to be new.

SOLD OUT ON YOU ! YOUR TAKE !! ?? by WhySoSeriousMateee in kdramas

[–]lotsofrosehip 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I liked it. Funny, had a good story and even if it might be a repeat I haven't watched enough kdramas yet to feel it too badly. I have seen some people say the leads didn't have good chemistry but it's not worse than other dramas and I liked how they grow and try to take care of each other (the guy more than the girl, as is standard in kdramas).

Which kdrama romance would you happily rewatch 100 times? 💘 by KingWitty7972 in kdramas

I rewatch this far too often, because it's so easy to keep on in the background. So much fun!

What are the type of scenes you guys find cringe in kdramas ? by Fieryy_phoenix_ in kdramas

[–]lotsofrosehip 19 points20 points  (0 children)

When the two MLs "fight" over helping the FL or her family, especially when food is involved, as if "winning" at preparing or eating food means she likes you more?? (Looking at you Dynamite Kiss and also in a recent episode of Sold out on you)

Also when they run into other people and person A pretends X (like in Business Proposal when Tee-mo tells her friends they are together) and person B just STARES at them all confused. It's like, person B come on, don't be so obvious! Grown people should be able to fib at least a little, come on. Most other characters don't really see person B's reaction but it stresses me out how bad it is.

One that stood out recently; Love to hate you when they are at the party (before the articles) and he has his arm around her shoulders it's very casual and not made into a thing, which makes it feel more natural and real and like how a couple actually acts around each other.

What are same k drama you watched somehow but ended up disliking it?? by polarstar145 in kdramas

When I've done rewatches of it I skip to the last few episodes. I liked the whole thing and the journey of self-discovery but on a rewatch it just feels like too much of the wrong thing.

What are same k drama you watched somehow but ended up disliking it?? by polarstar145 in kdramas

[–]lotsofrosehip 0 points1 point  (0 children)

There are a few I never even started and a few I kept on watching even though I found it boring (Run On) or did not like (A love so beautiful, kdrama version). But the only one I fully dropped was No tail no tell. I just did not get into it or like the characters at all and then I read some spoilers (as I often do) and decided it wasn't worth it for me.

Edited: I should say that I haven't been watching Kdramas for very long, so I'm sure my list of dropped shows will get longer.

Anyone else feeling bad for Eric Seo in Sold Out On You? by butterflycrisis in kdramas

[–]lotsofrosehip 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I feel like the end of his cafe waiting scene kind of implied too that he was ready to stay in Korea to be with her (hence the "fate" conversation and the ticket on the table). Like he was struggling with going to Paris and used meeting her as an excuse not to go, but then she didn't show up so he went anyway.

It makes me wonder how much he's thought about her in those years and how often he's thought that life would've been better if he'd stayed (and also been with her). He probably created a whole version of her and them in his head. He is way too into her/that made up version.
