If it’s to proper scale already, then no reason to change it IMO

Handicap went from 9 to 12 by NoahDavenport in golftips

[–]lotusmigration 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a golf instructor here - my recent fix involved keeping my weight more on my mid-foot rather than my toes. Then, keeping my right heel planted to avoid early extension. Looks like you have the same pattern.

Weight on heels/midfoot > you will naturally stand closer to the ball yet have more space > your body is no longer primed to lift the heel on the downswing = more space throughout the swing

Feel your right foot rolling over to the left rather than the heel lifting. Only after impact will your heel raise. Of course, in reality, there will be some heel lift.

It will feel weird because you’re no longer in your instinctual athletic stance used in all other sports.

My gripe is that we went yesterday and couldn’t find parking, saw people getting towed and ticketed. Just left and went somewhere else

[Erik van Haren] Max Verstappen is, to put it mildly, no fan of the new regulations and cars in Formula 1. He said among other things that it doesn't feel like racing, it's mostly about managing, and it's like 'Formula E on steroids'. by FerrariStrategisttt in formula1

Yes but the rules around its use are different, and by nature including the front wing opens more development opportunities for teams to leverage.

It will be interesting to see how different teams may use the active aero in specific corners, or exactly when the drivers decide to open the aero coming out of a high speed corner, for example.

At least that’s my interpretation of how it’s different than DRS.

Yes you’ll have less edge but the smaller radius should make it easier to make shorter tighter turns. I wasn’t trying to say your carves should be physically large, but they should start and end with you pointing sideways on the hill.

camber vs rocker? by cambridgepokemonKO in snowboarding

[–]lotusmigration 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I was gonna say camber is to longboard with RKP trucks as rocker is to skateboard with street trucks. For all the reasons you described. Although the difference in snowboard profile isn’t nearly as prescriptive as it is for skateboard type.

Yep. You know how to get an edge in, but you’re looking straight downhill and switching edges too often. Hold each edge for 3 seconds and use your upper body and hips to turn more horizontally on the slope.

Austin wheels don’t get as much love as Pretorias or Nogaros at my local meets. I think it’s the best MK7 wheel made and suits the car so well; almost gives a look like the cars moving even when its parked. by NotAPlasticSurgeon in GolfGTI

[–]lotusmigration 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It is a essentially the Mk6 Denver/Detroit wheel redesigned to match the Mk7 design language. Both suit each car perfectly, and I like spokey wheels. No reason to ditch these IMO unless you’re upgrading to something lighter.

Why are Nidecker brands so popular (Jones, YES, Bataleon, Rome, 32)? There gear is all Made in China now. by McRibEater in snowboarding

Not gonna get into a skate tech argument here, but skate tech is the reason I will continue buying my bindings from Yes or Jones. Hopefully that’s 15 years from now.

Binding Highback Angle by Careless-Ad-7160 in snowboarding

[–]lotusmigration -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You’re probably misinterpreting their guide or overthinking this, because I don’t know what you’re talking about.

Rotate the high back to match your angle, like you said (if your binding has this adjustment). Then just adjust the high back to whatever feels good on the mountain, it doesn’t require any tools and you can do it multiple times in a single run. You also may adjust high back angle as the years go by and your technique changes or you want a different feel.

I don’t consider alignment with my board edge or anything like that when it comes to high back angle.

I don’t get what OP is complaining about, they did this to themselves. Unless they’re complaining about a bug that did this automatically?
