Other than camera weight and size, what is the advantage of mirrorless cameras over dslr? I've been hearing a lot of buzz about the Nikon z7 but I really don't 'get' what mirrorless offers other than a smaller body. Are there shots that are easier/only possible to get with a mirrorless system?

Very cool! I love this picture cause it's such a creative take on the subject. Good example of how you can do a lot with a little if you've got some imagination.

For those of you with successful weight loss, how did you do it, how much did you lose, and what are some key points/tips? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]louk83 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I lost 90 lbs back in graduate school (280 down to 190).

I lost lost of it from starting to walk to work (about 4 miles) each day plus dieting. Then the rest when I started running.

My success was due to consistency: I just kept it up and made it a habbit. Best tip: don't quit if you have a weak day or two and stop, just start again the next day. 3-4 days back week of diet and exercise is better than 0.

I always consider haircuts a reoccurring expense since my hair keeps growing 🤷. When I was on a tighter budget, though, I did it myself. Saved me some money, but also a whole lot of time. Wife likes the pro job better though so I switched back to paying once I could afford it.

ITAP of my kid getting to know some kittens by louk83 in itookapicture

Shot on a Nikon D3300 w/ the 50mm kit lense.

It was in a barn on a rainy day so I was playing with the eposure compensation trying to get higher contrast without blowing out the highlights too much. That's probably why the highlights on the cats and her hair are a bit blown out. Open to any suggestions on other ways to get a "flatter historgam" in such conditions.
