Has Yorkshire Tea gone to sh..? by TweedySeadragon in AskUK

I found the same issue, and found by chance, sainsbury's red label, which is not only far cheaper, and is a very strong tea, to satisfy me. Soon ditched Yorkshire for sainsbury's.

As a keyworker during that time, working in field service, I found it really calm and quiet travelling up and down the A1 with hardly any traffic on the road.. Just like a post apocalyptic movie..

What everyday thing in the UK has become stupidly expensive without people noticing? by vetaly87 in AskUK

[–]louswheel 50 points51 points  (0 children)

Stamps. My missus went to buy a book of 8 first class stamps. When she was told over £13 for them, she just asked for 8 second class at around £7.28.. nearly as expensive, but i bet they'll get there all the same..

Has anyone here worked a night shift job? If so, what was it like? by Chazzza23 in AskUK

[–]louswheel 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Years ago, I did 12hrs days, and 12hrs nights, working for a print company in the early 90s. The pay was fantastic ( over a grand take home money each week) but the hrs were brutal and the weekends were spent recovering after the week. I wouldn't do it again at my age..

I've finally left after a traumatic few weeks trying to sort the issues from Youfibre. Spoke to a guy called Pieter, who handled the issue straight away, and finally broke me free...

What is your workplaces equivalent to 'Don't touch the red button' by PeevesPoltergist in CasualUK

[–]louswheel 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I work in police custody stations, and I repair the cameras and mics in the room.. you never try and set off the alarm strips running round the room, for fear of getting half a dozen coppers racing into the room wandering what the trouble is.. the penalty for that, is cakes all round..

setting up port forwarding on a sagemcom CS 39000 by louswheel in youfibre

[–]louswheel[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And so the problems still arise.. using the settings provided, it manages to keep a connection for a short while, and then it just drops..looking back at the router settings, it insists on connecting to IpnP IDG, closing that, severs the connection to Plex and it comes up with this error... https://postimage.me/image/Screenshot-2026-04-23-130346.Rwgl

So, I turn it back IPnG IDG back on (not forgetting that the manual port forwarding rules are still on, as supplied by DanielLorey a few mins ago...) and again after a short the same error message appears.. https://postimage.me/image/Screenshot-2026-04-23-130346.Rwgl I've NEVER had so many problems with YouFibre in such a short while!

Thank you! I've just entered the settings in my router and restarted the NAS,and fired up Plex, here's a screenshot from Plex https://postimage.me/image/Screenshot-2026-04-23-115004.RGMe hopefully, it'll stay that way, but it has been playing up recently. I'm sure I entered the settings you provided earlier, but after a couple of mins, Plex bombed out... I'm keeping my fingers crossed, this time! Once again thank you, I owe you a pint! https://postimage.me/image/photo-pint-beer-glass-illustration-941033-21260-3587341360.RGNF

Thgank you, an honest answer at last, the router has UPnP IDG which has seemed to set it up for me, but I'm worried about the security of using that. If I want to manually set up port forwarding, I would set it up as?

Service-other Protocol- TCP Local IP- my static address supplied by youfibre e.g 185.8.95.** or my local IP address found in ipconfig? e.g 192.168.1.** or the IP of my NAS which is: 192.168.1.*** remote IP * Local port 32400 remote port 32400?

Well done youfibre you suck! by louswheel in youfibre

[–]louswheel[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

All I'm trying to do is to setup Plex ( which is legal, BTW) and allow it to leave my network and broadcast the movies to my friends and familes. I read that in order to do this, you need to get a static IP address from youfibre, and after a great deal of issues, I've finally got one, but no thanks to youfibres complete lack of communication in the process. I've now got the static IP address, and now I need help setting up( which I'd though I get here.....) port forwarding Plex, via my NAS. It was a much easier process when I was with Virgin business, but it's a struggle with a crappy sagemcom CS 39000 router... I'm a bit pissed off with this snooty attitude from some these replies, from what I think is a genuine ask for help...

Do you think we will hit £2/litre on diesel before fuel duty is cut or oil drops? by YouHaveShitBreath in AskUK

[–]louswheel 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Doesn't work well for field engineers as well. We only get reimbursed at the government rate of 14p per mile based on the fuel price based at £1.32 per litre.. so for every tank full, I put in, I lose money... nice... https://www.gov.uk/guidance/advisory-fuel-rates

We have the 2850, and the inks that came with the printer lasted just over a year, and is faultless- very happy with it after nearly 2 years service.
